Overview
What is the role
Support and assist the Broadcast Operations department in ensuring that all necessary technical and operational functions are carried out efficiently for successful transmission of Channel 5 programming. We are bustling and busy department that prides itself on quality of work, and its efficiency, this role will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the department and, as a result, a world class offering for our viewers and customers across the UK!
• Provide practical support for the Broadcast Operations department
• Ingest quality control and transcodes of programme material for linear transmission and on-demand video platforms
• Build and upload video material for viewing on Press Browse
• Database media management; housekeeping
• Check on materials processed and deliveries daily
• Provide administrative support checking and updating department inboxes and documents for record keeping, and to ensure programming is delivered ready for transmission
• As directed by Management & Coordinators to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.
• Embrace the ‘One ViacomCBS’ approach and encourage collaboration and team working
• Be an ambassador for all VCNI channels, internally and externally
• Adopt and promote the ViacomCBS values and support a culture of inclusion
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
Candidates who are passionate about the broadcast and media space will keen attention to detail and ex excellent communication skills will thrive in this role. Experience and passion for Video editing is crucial, and a level of proficient with Avid is essential to this role.
• Basic knowledge of video standards and file types/codecs ideal
• Fantastic communication skills and resolve to tight deadlines
• Basic knowledge and experience of Premier, FCP & Avid editing ideal
• Strong IT skills with experience of using both Mac & PC
• Confidence to liaise effectively with all levels of management and the wider team
• Passionate about the media sector industry, and a keen interest in television
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team player
• Highly flexible and multi-skilled in approach to work
