Overview and Responsibilities
The Research and Analytics Analyst will be responsible for balancing day to day requests and maintaining daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports for Viacom television networks and its competition at the corporate level. The ideal candidate will have a deep interest in entertainment, television, and the media business.
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly standardized ratings reports
• Collect, analyze, and interpret Nielsen ratings data of media content airing on Viacom channels and its key competitors
• Track industry trends and competitive landscape developments
• Support research needs for internal clients: Executive Management team, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications and Finance.
Basic Qualifications
The candidate will be curious, have a passion for media/pop culture, and an ability to learn and work with others.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to learn other tools used for analytics (Python, Tableau, SQL, R, etc…)
• Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
• Highly organized and very detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
