Full Time Job
The manager is the point person for department and company initiatives. The workflow heavily relies on the management and tracking of data and show analysis. The brands require that data be as integral to our operation as is the content itself. This position supports the West Coast Vice Presidents and Directors and must manage both projects and corporate priorities.
Responsibilities
• Manages production elements and date as well as support the West Coast Production Dept. (Director, Sr. Director & VP)
• Create and vet series and specials budgets, calendars and production plans for both Internal and 3rd Party Productions (as applicable)
• Prep production budgets for approval, create signature pages and manage circulation
• Track financials for alongside production finance and vet/review monthly cost reports for 3rd Party Productions
• Manage payroll for PBEs
• Work with Finance team to create internal cash flow reports for 3rd Party/Internal productions
• Vet/review all final show deliverables, assets and wrap materials
• Manage/Oversee internal shoots and Assist on location for any Multiplatform/Events (Online ancillary content, photoshoots, Press Days, Talent logistics, travel)
• Manage department Pcards and petty cash
• Supports rollout of department/company initiatives and trains the team on new mandates including Scenechronize, Concur, Market, Budget Templates, Chart of Accts.
• Work with internal production teams to ensure proper protocols are implemented and coordinate with proper departments as needs that may arise – Legal, Press, Risk Management, Talent, Security, Finance, Marketing
Basic Qualifications
• Support a broad level of diversity in projects for all formats of television production-- including reality, scripted, studio and animation.
• Provide research and trend analysis to help partner in the creative development phase to ensure that the creative vision is delivered and produced successfully while meeting all creative, operational, and financial targets.
• Manage the information and projects with a particular focus on the development and successful implementation of standards and process. This includes but is not limited project timelines, budgets, reporting, working with various department heads across multiple groups, vendors, contractors and production companies.
• Be a partner in problem solving with an impact on savings for each project while presenting innovative and on trend ideas
• Manage, evolve and enhance internal and external relationships for efficient and effective show productions across all departments. (Creative, BALA, Finance, PRT, MML, S&P, PBR, VOD, Vh1.com, CMI, International, 3rd Party productions)
• Demonstrate the ability to be a diplomatic, yet an impactful communicator
• Work on new company initiatives/programs and ensure they their successful implementation
• Keep up knowledge of new technologies/formats that impact our shows and budgets
• High tolerance for a constantly changing environment and demonstrate the ability to be a pro-active team player.
• Have a keen understanding of issues that must be elevated.
• Ensure that our Producing Partners understand the Viacom Music & Entertainment Group handbook and deliverables process from pre-production through completion
• Have Production Manager level experience on shows and at a Network
• Confidentiality is a must
• College Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
