Position Summary
Vertical Entertainment, a full-service film distribution company located in Santa Monica, CA, is looking for an experienced Sales & Distribution Manager to join their small team. The Manager is responsible for selling in a slate of films per year, including traditional theatrical, multi-platform and limited global releases, to major cable, satellite and digital accounts. The Manager will also prepare all sales pitch materials (including decks, avails and metadata), input metadata into backend portals, manage and grow sales relationships, track and analyze weekly performance, maintain schedules and timelines, and always be on the lookout for new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate has existing sales relationships with cable, satellite, digital and OTT accounts and has experience negotiating distribution deals. Candidate must be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a non-corporate, startup-like environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage digital, cable and satellite partner relationships, including iTunes, Amazon Video, AT&T U-verse, Charter, Comcast Xfinity,
DirecTV, Dish, Google Play, inDemand, Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation, Time Warner, Verizon Fios, Vubiquity and Vudu
• Develop and implement sales strategies and title merchandising opportunities across digital and cable/satellite accounts (TVOD,
EST and AVOD)
• Lead on-platform marketing (co-op, ad buys) across platforms
• Track and analyze performance metrics to quickly adapt sales strategies to market trends
• Manage non-theatrical licensing, including airlines and hotels
• Create sales pitch decks, monthly avails and metadata submissions; backlot metadata entry
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 3-5 years experience in Entertainment Sales and Distribution
• 2+ years experience in a client-facing or sales position
• Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a startup-like environment
• Understanding of complex and evolving windowing strategy
• Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings & markets
• Experience in deal analysis and contract negotiation preferred
