We are currently looking for a Quality Control Supervisor whose primary responsibility is to ensure equipment leaving VCI is in good working order and appearance. The QC Supervisor will also be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of preventative maintenance plans as well as training staff in proper equipment use procedures. A basic working knowledge of all owned equipment will be necessary to successfully evaluate its performance. The position will also assist with technical expertise related to warehouse operations and additionally will provide first line support to the Operations Department for Lightning (company POS). QC Supervisor will also assist with ensuring most effective inventory utilization on jobs. There may also be occasional requirements for operation of C Class vehicles. Based on business requirements and individual proficiencies, the QC Supervisor may also occasionally be required to participate in event related activities (as show crew member). The position will include but not be limited to the following;
70% l. Quality Control & Maintenance
• Determine what returning equipment will need cleaning and testing.
• Prioritize (triage) equipment required first using Equipment scheduling data.
• Clean and apply branded labels to equipment.
• Begin repair activity for equipment failing functional testing.
• Change status in Lightning to reflect items not available for use due to failure.
• Develop and maintain clean and organized storage areas for all systems, audio, and video terminal equipment.
• Develop preventative maintenance plan including maintaining current firmware/software versions for all equipment.
• Ensure that Equipment leaving VCI on jobs is in proper working order and acceptable appearance.
• Maintain complete maintenance records of VCI Equipment.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure availability of materials and equipment.
20% Il. Inventory Management
• Assist QC Management with VCI equipment inventory including sourcing, procuring, repairing, referring for 3rd party service, filing warranty claims, and other activities as directed.
• Confirm the existence, condition, and placement of barcode label on serialized equipment.
• Research, collaborate, and recommend capital and non-capital purchases for the company.
• Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care and handling of equipment
10% lll. Show Site Assistance
• Perform responsibilities of crew position as required by assignment.
• Supervise particular aspects of event related activity as directed by Manager (i.e.: Supervise LED strike and pack).
• Ensure safe and appropriate use of rental equipment on show site.
This role requires:
• At least 3 years professional AV experience in a corporate, hotel or rental environment
• Some form of leadership/management experience
• Demonstrated technical skills in more than one A/V disciple
• Ability to follow process and direct others
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
