Description
Work for a rapidly expanding video production department, producing firearms-related content. Be a part of the solution, while educating gun owners around the country.
Reports to the Content Production Manager
*This is a junior position for someone with some experience to move up in.
The Assistant Coordinator / Production Assistant will assist the production department in any needs relating to the pre-production, production and post-production of content. This role works in-office and it may include, creating lists and spreadsheets of information, scheduling tasks and meetings, organizing paperwork and files, undertaking research assignments, computer data entry, setting up and using office equipment, reading or writing documents, going out on food runs, purchasing equipment or supplies, keeping calendars of key stakeholders and the coordination of other aspects of ongoing production.
On-set duties may include transporting and setting up equipment, undertaking craft service responsibilities, working with various departments on their specific needs, handling releases and other paperwork essential to the production and the like.
Must be able to be a jack(or jill)-of-all trades, while working professionally with others, in any environment, with any personality. Team player a must. Quickly assess any issues that arise and report them to needed key individual(s). Be calm in chaos, while working against very aggressive deadlines. This position will wear multiple hats, and possibly be tasked with other responsibilities not listed herein. A great opportunity for someone with at least some production experience to grow.
The ideal candidate will have a passion, experience or at least a rudimentary understanding of firearms, gun laws and or shooting sports as a hobby. This will not only help you perform the job better, but you will better understand the content being produced.
Key Qualifications
At least some experience working on college media production, short-form television, digital content, social media content, and/or in an internal corporate media production environment
Strong interest in, and some knowledge of, video, television and/or film production
Must be coordinated, highly motivated and action oriented
Must be able to take direction and adhere to a schedule
Be a project and time management superstar within a SUPER fast-paced environment
Be able to work within a team as well as work independently with minimal supervision, as needed
General office experience dealing with phones, fax, data entry, filing, research and other general office tasks
Must be organized and be able to organize files, data or other information
Not afraid to hop on the phone and talk to anyone as needed
Ability to go out on runs as production requires and return in a timely manner
At least a rudimentary understanding of pre-production, production and post-production terms
A good understanding, with previous experience in successfully using, the Microsoft Office line of programs; even better if you are a whiz at Excel
Proficient in internet searches and research and navigating the internet in general
Desired Qualifications
Proficiency with digital video cameras (including but not limited to Panasonic GH4, Panasonic DVX200, GoPros, RED and the like), lighting techniques and audio recording, as well as the ability to know/use/learn new software in the future - a plus but not required
Editing experience a plus (but not necessary)
Basic knowledge of Creative Cloud or at least Photoshop a plus
Helpful if you've worked in a production office environment before and/or been on set
Ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical problems or issues
Good at troubleshooting and solving issues
Knowing when it's the right time to ask questions so things don't get worse
Strong emphasis on attention to detail
Prior experience working as a Production Coordinator or Office Production Assistant a plus
Experience, knowledge or a passion for firearms and/or shooting sports aHUGE PLUSthese applicants go to top of the list!
