This position is responsible for the direction and outcomes of the Retail & Sales function of the merchandising organization. The VP, Retail & Sales will be accountable for generating a significant portion of Bravado’s revenues through identification and pursuit of major new business ventures such as licensing, joint ventures and strategic relationships that increase revenues, market share and quality of products and services.
The VP, Retail & Sales will oversee due diligence reviews of new business opportunities and coordinates the structuring of potential new business opportunities, as well as monitoring licensing arrangements and contracts, ensuring compliance and the organization’s best interest.
The B Side: Skills & ExperienceBe commercial
• Working with all existing retail partners to deliver revenues in line with company expectations
• Delivering projects to extend brand reach including Pop Up stores and experiential campaigns
• Identifying and partnering up with relevant fashion and lifestyle brands to accelerate the drive into high end retail distribution
• Manage existing and new deals, ensuring all deals have the appropriate consumer propositions, commercial & legal terms and service level agreements
• Assess the market to identify new potential partners and establish contacts at the right level
• Pitch opportunities to new business partners, to encourage them to launch new products
Be strategic
• Managing strategy for design development and range planning across the roster and customer base
• Continually monitor Bravado’s proposition, ensuring that it remains highly competitive within the market and implementing deals as appropriate
• Track industry pricing models to ensure all products are kept competitive
• Keep up to date with trends/competitors and use to maximise opportunities
Be inspiring
• Supporting and leading the sales team to deliver their personal and corporate goals
Be collaborative
• Integrate fully with key Bravado departments including Supply Chain, Finance and e-Commerce to provide a fully rounded artist proposal
• Work closely with all other areas of the UMG business, to ensure all opportunities are fully exploited
Person specification
• Demonstrable track record in a similar senior role
• A solid experience of negotiating and successfully implementing various deal types
• Experience of presenting complex proposals, to both new and existing partners; possessing dynamic presentation skills
• Proven track record in growing revenues; including commercial modelling and forecasting
• Proven experience in identifying market opportunities & approaching leads
• Have a good understanding of the music industry and a strong opinion on commercial opportunity and distribution options for each artist
• A demonstrable track record in managing a deal making process, working with and guiding key stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills with people at all levels of the business
• Strong leadership and management skills as well as excellent commercial acumen to manage major projects as well as people
• Superior decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and management skills and experience; proven leader in setting direction for and achieving objectives
