Universal Music Group (UMG) currently has an opening for an Accounting & Finance Manager position within its Central Accounting Services (CAS) division to support the Central Operations Finance Team.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, this position will support the general accounting close cycle and corporate reporting process for two UMG central entities. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of combined frontline general ledger and/or corporate reporting and public accounting experience, must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA credentials are preferred.

In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of accounting, analysis and reporting activities, including primary responsibility for:
• Coordination of the financial close & reporting process start-to-finish, including journal entry review, financial statement generation, key analytics preparation, and corporate reporting using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Reviewing and preparing management financial package including financial reports; balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analytics to facilitate review of monthly close by CAS senior management.
• Coordination of the quarterly forecasting and annual planning process start-to-finish, including key analytics preparation, reviewing and preparing supporting schedules, and corporate reporting using HFM.
• Coordinating with the North America Consolidation team, as well as other UMG functional departments to stay current with business activity and emerging issues.
• Supporting special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements: Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting a must/CPA credentials preferred
• 5 to 7 years of broad general ledger accounting or corporate reporting experience; public accounting experience preferred
• Experience with JD Edwards or similar mainframe General Ledger application such as: Lawson or SAP
• Strong analytical skills required; able to effectively multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong Excel and Word skills required; Access experience a plus
• Experience with HFM a plus
• Music or Entertainment industry experience a plus
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Authorized to work in the US.
