The A Side: A Day in The Life
Universal Music Commercial & Creative Services Division is a centralised dedicated team servicing the needs of the whole Universal UK business. As the Commercial team, in close collaboration with our labels we create and deliver innovative sales campaigns for our retail business partners and forge strong working relationships with these partners to create unique customer propositions to help drive their business.
We are currently looking for a Partner Manager to integrate into the wider Commercial Team in charge of managing one of our key physical retail partners.
This candidate will primarily focus on driving the business plan for their account to deliver the new release campaigns but also deliver a strong plan on catalogue and our wider long-term business strategy
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Sales Performance
• Lead and manage the partner business plan with clear KPIs and milestones
• Create and manage the promotional & events calendar and exploiting all opportunities
• Understanding and being responsible for a good return on investment from partner marketing packages and campaigns
• Work with record labels to identify opportunities and deliver incremental sales
• Alongside labels, execute creative and compelling new release artist campaigns
Customer Relationships
• Build strong, lasting relationships with business partner and maintain the high standards expected by Universal
• Own relationships within business partner across all channels, meeting regularly and using every opportunity to understand their internal challenges
• Lead the thinking in terms of strategy to exploit and grow customer base
Stock and Operations
• Have a clear understanding of the partner supply chain and delivers best in class customer service
• Identify and take action to address any stock issues
• Manage stock returns process end to end
• Seeks improvement in operating efficiencies and lead monthly/quarterly partner ops meeting
Person Specification
• Some experience in managing national key accounts
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Highly numerate - expected to create reports, run business plan and share insightful information with internal and external stakeholders
• Able to sell and lead commercial negotiations
• Excellent Microsoft Power Point & Excel skills
• A natural influencer and communicator with a focus on building strong networks and relationships with colleagues
• Team player who excels in a vibrant environment
• Experience with content management systems and analytics platforms
• A natural problem solver
• A creative thinker
• Have a network of artist / managers / promoters / media / creative contacts to be able to draw upon
