Description
Job title: Marketing Assistant
Responsible to: Senior Product Manager
Department: UMOD
Location of work: 4 Pancras Square
Main Purpose of Role:
Universal Music On Demand (UMOD) is the curation specialist within Universal Music. The label’s activities include the releasing of leading physical and digital compilations, playlist curation and marketing and special projects, which can range from artist releases to branded and licensed content.
UMOD also run the promotion and management of the UK arm of SPINNUP, Universal Music’s digital distribution platform for independent artists. From this UMOD also signs and promotes any artist discovered via the Spinnup service in the UK.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and switched on team player who cares about music and the music consumption process. With a marketing mind-set, the successful candidate will be proactive, innovative, and want to make a difference within a small but impactful and very driven label. They will have the opportunity to progress in a fast-changing sector of the business if they prove to be a valuable part of the team.
Responsibilities
(include but are not limited to):
• To support and assist the Senior Product manager and from time to time other members of the Product management team with all elements of their album releases.
• To specifically manage the co-ordination if accurate licensing sheets and use of the R2 system to generate label copy.
• To curate and maintain at least one playlist within the UMOD managed portfolio.
• To assist the label with its development of the Spinnup UK proposition and marketing.
• To assist the Product managers with any artist marketing endeavours for artists signed from the Spinnup UK platform.
• Manage the Uniport, Mediacom, PO and invoice processes.
• Prepare/Print information for departmental meetings, and book meeting spaces.
• Send packages via couriers, bikes etc.
• Book transport & travel arrangements for the department.
• Order Stock (FOC).
• Additional ad hoc duties where required.
• Provide cover for other members of the marketing team when needed.
• To carry out any other reasonable instruction as directed by the General Manager, Managing Director and the Senior Product Manager.
Person Specification
• IT Literate – must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and windows-based packages.
• A good understanding of the marketing process.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Efficient, with excellent time management skills.
• Record company experience in similar role desirable.
