The A Side: A Day in The Life

The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Marketing team to assist and provide support in all aspects of the marketing process.
In doing so, the Marketing Intern will essentially be the central point of contact for internal & external teams on each project on their allocated roster.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be operational
• Assist in the execution of bespoke marketing campaigns alongside Marketing Managers and the Marketing Team
• Be responsible for campaign asset management across UmusicBox
• Initiating and delivering new releases and videos at request of Marketing Managers & Marketing Director
• Liaising with Marketing Managers, Studio Island, external creatives and artist/management to deliver, copy check, and facilitate approvals across all campaign assets
• Learn from and work in conjunction with FUSED, UMG’s in-house digital media buying agency in planning and executing online advertising
• Work with Marketing Managers from briefing in, to execution for all advertising assets in conjunction with Studio Island & external creatives
• Liaise with external suppliers & contractors
• Initiate and maintain sales notes for album releases
• Canvas & create promo tools from TV, Radio, Press and Club Promotions
• Creation of affiliate, re-marketing links within Universal's Linkfire system
• General administration (invoicing, filing, ordering stationery/CD stock)
• Data Analysis, reporting on streaming activity and play listing as requested by marketing managers within Universal's Artist Portal
• Oversee work experience/intern
• Attend gigs; assist on facilitating after shows showcases post COVID-19
• Any other reasonable duties as required by marketing team
Be administrative
• Maintain marketing updates and timelines for meetings
• Manage campaign budgets and regularly maintain Uniport; including approving quotes, raising POs etc in a timely fashion, ensuring payment deadlines are met
• Co-ordinating meetings including scheduling, ensuring meetings are well prepped with agendas and following up with action points where required
• Work with Video Admin to ensure all new videos are logged in BAM and serviced to the project team and third parties
• Work with Production to ensure timely delivery of digital and physical products
• Ensure internal and external teams are equipped with assets ahead of releases
• Manage MPE audio servicing
• Sourcing and ordering any merchandise or special items
• Weekly updating of competitor release schedules
• Co-ordination of artist activity including shoots, showcases, in-stores and other relevant promotion
• Organising MPE retail blasts
• Arranging travel
• Booking cabs/couriers
• Ticket ordering for gigs on behalf of Marketing team
• Ensuring that all Artists birthdays are acknowledged
Person Specification
• Passionate about music with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Desire to pursue a career within marketing. We value hunger and ability to learn over previous direct experience
• Proven experience of working effectively and efficiently under pressure in a calm and organised manner
• Professional, proactive and flexible approach to work – ability to prioritise, multi-task & pre-empt problems before they occur
• Excellent track record of working to strict deadlines & maintaining a high standard of attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally
• Reliable & dedicated team player, also able to work on own initiative
• Ability to deal with situations discreetly & confidentially
• Able to demonstrate a tactful and diplomatic approach
• Experience in using in house computer systems and packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Awareness of the streaming space as an active proficient user of major music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music etc.
