Description
Job title: Marketing Intern
Responsible to: Head of Marketing
Department: EMI Records
Location of work: 4 Pancras Square, Kings Cross
The A Side: A Day in The Life
Work closely with Marketing Assistants, Product Managers and Marketing Managers and assist in all aspects of the marketing process.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be administrative
• General administration (invoicing, filing, ordering stock & stationery).
• Updating the gig guide document every week
• Setting up inter-department planning meetings and sourcing all materials needed for them
• Collating info from all departments for team updates and creation of sales note
• Booking bikes / cabs / couriers
• Ticket ordering for gigs on behalf of the marketing team
• Answering calls for marketing team if not at desk
• Ordering all printed marketing materials and awards discs
• Maintaining the “how to” guide which is passed on from one intern to the next
Be operational
• Scheduling new releases and liaising with production
• Distribution via secure link of unreleased music to the various artist teams
• Collating and distributing assets – e.g. pack shots, press releases, biogs etc. via Box
• Arranging travel and getting travel reqs approved by finance
• Budgeting in Uniport; including approving quotes, raising POs etc.
• Sourcing and ordering any merchandise or special items
• Attend gigs; assist on facilitating after shows and showcases
• Any other reasonable duties as required by the marketing team
Be creative and use initiative to help solve problems
• Keep up to date with industry news and events
• Look for creative solutions to problems and challenges facing the team
• Always look for inspiration for ideas both from competitors and other creative industries
• Help maintain the creative bible, a resource for the department to access information on all aspects of creative
Person Specification
• Passionate about music
• Experience in a similar role (preferably in marketing)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels
• Highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure
• Flexible and able to prioritise own workload
• Self-motivated with the ability to deal with the routine tasks as well as the more interesting aspects of the role
• Hard-working and enthusiastic
• Good IT skills i.e. MS Office, Adobe etc.
• Tactful and diplomatic
