Job title: Global Classics & Jazz Intern
Responsible to: Senior Marketing Manager
Department: Global Classics & Jazz
Location of work: 4 Pancras Square, King’s Cross
The A Side: A Day in The Life
An enthusiastic and motivated individual is required for an internship within this London- and Berlin-based international division serving a number of renowned classical and jazz record labels. The intern will provide assistance to the Global Classics & Jazz team. Current campaigns include: Andrea Bocelli; Gregory Porter; Ludovico Einaudi; Lang Lang; Max Richter; Olafur Arnalds; Sons of Kemet; Sheku Kanneh-Mason; Jacob Collier; and Moby.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Organised
• Managing, updating and circulating release schedules from all C&J repertoire centres, including Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Blue Note and Verve
• Managing and maintaining international meeting schedules
• Collecting and circulating international chart data
• Checking and compiling sales data and reports
• Creating marketing bulletins and newsletters
• Distributing audio
• Maintaining distribution lists
• Meeting & greeting visitors, making refreshments
• Booking meeting rooms / arranging catering where required
• Internet research / photocopying / arranging couriers
• Processing expense claims using internal system
• Ordering & distributing concert tickets
• Locating or ordering product
• Arranging travel schedules, booking international travel and accommodation for artists and team members
Be Collaborative
• Assisting with creation of presentation slides
• Assisting with artist promo including overseeing promo events, booking rooms and creating schedules
• Assisting Global Classics & Jazz team with other ad hoc duties
Person Specification
Necessary
• Experience of working under own initiative and as part of a team
• A strong interest in a wide variety of musical genres
• Strong IT skills, especially in Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint/Key Note or equivalent
• Proactive approach to work
• Ability to be flexible and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Desirable
• Above experience gained in Music or Media organisation
• Ability to work in a busy environment & meet deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Professional and personable manner
• Flexible and enthusiastic approach
• Fluency or spoken proficiency in other languages
• Experience of working with data and report generation
• Experience using Universal internal systems
• Work experience within the arts and/or within an international role would be an advantage
