Job title: Digital Intern
Responsible to: Head of Digital
Department: Digital, Polydor
Location of work: 4PS, Kings Cross
Main purpose of the role:
Assistant to the Digital Team whose primary responsibility is to deliver innovative and impactful digital marketing strategy and campaigns for Polydor:
Role competencies:
• Work with the wider Polydor marketing, commercial and promotions teams to help deliver high impact and successful campaigns for our artists.
• Help deliver value for the artist in excellent management of all their digital activities.
• Find, engage and develop relevant target audiences via digital platforms.
• Help deliver against performance targets set out by the President and Head of Digital.
• Provide support to Digital Team and Head of Digital in all activities.
General / regular duties:
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and discussions around campaigns, innovation and technology.
• Assist the Content Creation team with delivery and workflow of digital content and assets, including some asset creation.
• Help to run eCRM activity including HTML email design, sign up forms, competitions, managing deliveries, and reporting.
• Helping to develop and maintain our influencer network database.
• Keeping abreast of new digital innovation and platforms that might be useful or relevant for our artists.
• Monitoring competitor activity and preparing reports.
• Updating social networking sites and websites with news and content.
• Setting up new artist accounts on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Facebook.
• Running analysis and creating reports on growth and changes to social networks for our artists.
• Overseeing video delivery with central supply chain teams.
• Processing basic legal clearances for music videos.
• Preparing documents and information for team or management/artist meetings.
• Following up on team meetings with notes and action points.
• Review new services and suppliers on a regular basis with the digital team.
• Retail link building and distribution.
• Raising purchase orders for costs and closing invoices.
• Sending packages on couriers, bikes and booking taxis / transport for the department.
• Ordering stationery and tickets for the department.
• Meeting and diary management for Head of Digital and the team.
• Additional ad hoc duties where required.
Person specification:
Essential
• A digital native and avid user of social media who is enthusiastic about innovation.
• Passionate about music with a desire to work in digital and progress in the music industry.
• Must have an understanding of the latest innovations and consumer trends in digital media.
• Some knowledge of digital marketing & current digital music developments.
• Creative flair, someone with ideas.
• Aptitude for technical tasks and the ability to learn quickly.
• Experience using/ maintaining social networking sites & streaming services (Spotify, YouTube SoundCloud).
• Ability to analyse data.
• Basic knowledge of HTML.
• Understanding and experienced using Google Analytics and other Social Media Analytics.
• Self-motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure.
• Flexible and able to prioritise own workload.
• Experience of working in an office environment.
Desirable
• Experience working in ‘music’ (personal or professional).
• Experience working with social media influencers (youtubers, musers etc).
• Marketing experience.
• Confident in using graphics software (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Flash).
