BUSINESS AFFAIRS & SYNC INTERNSHIP
Universal Music Canada is proud to offer students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in the music industry through our Unpaid Internship Program commencing Winter 2019 ( January to April ). Today’s students may be tomorrow’s employees and this placement will provide interested students with the chance to work with and learn directly from music industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities for Intern :
Within Sync:
• Creation of digital sync samplers
• Retrieving audio wav files from LA vault for music supervisors
• Updating/maintaining local audio wav library for sync
• Gathering courtesy credit information for projects
• Gathering publishing information for music supervisors
• Researching ownership rights for sync requests
• Responding to generic email request with master license request form and basic license request instructions
• Collecting and cataloguing video clips of all sync uses (ads, video games trailers, TV Promos, Sports Highlights, TV and Film scene clips)
• Posting in the Slack Sync channel about any current or upcoming sync uses
Within Business Affairs:
• F iling project to reduce physical files kept in the office (i.e. sending files for storage)
• O rganization o f our physical filing cabinets (i.e. renaming files to ensure consistency)
• S canning agreements and important documents to ensure our digital files are up to date and organized on the server (i.e. on H-Drive)
• O rganization of our minutes books and removal of books/binders that are no longer needed within our department
• O rganization of individual offices (i.e. CD walls, older files, archive boxes)
R equirements :
• Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program that requires a placement
• Passion for music
• Excellen t research and analytics skills
• Basic knowledge and passion for advertising, music and brands is an asset
• Experience in graphic design (i.e. Photoshop) is an asset
• Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Out look, Excel and Power Point )
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
