Responsible to: Senior e-Commerce Manager

Main purpose of the role:
This role is responsible for day to day e-Commerce management of Universal Music UK’ s flagship vinyl store, The Sound of Vinyl , alongside working with Universal Music Catalogue
As e-Commerce Manager you’ll use your commercial and marketing experience to formulate & execute retail strategies to drive further store awareness, traffic & conversions; whilst also enhancing customer experience. Using your excellent organisational & communication skills you’ll be responsible for the commercial and marketing relationships with suppliers and partners.
The role will have responsibilit y for working with Universal Music Catalogue to deliver a focused, profitable, and innovative e-Commerce strategy that delivers to both top line and bottom line, driving incremental business for the artist and the Label.
This role requires a focused, passionate and commercially driven individual who will formulate and execute a profitable and innovative e-Commerce strategy that delivers to both top and bottom lin e revenues. You may already be working in e-Commerce or be part of a commercial team within a music related business.
Key Responsibilities – The Sound of Vinyl
• Formulate the retail & marketing strategy for The Sound of Vinyl, work with line management & wider teams to execute deliver ing increased traffic, store conversions and data capture opportunities .
• Working alongside e-Commerce and Marketing Co-Or dinator to ensure all campaigns are delivered effectively, monitored against KPIs and adjusted to maximise ROI accordingly. Working with the FUSED team for social marketing opportunities.
• Maintaining and fostering excellent relationships with 3 rd party suppliers including identifying and forming new relationships with a commercial mindset.
• Manage the web store release schedule with the Label/Distributor/other external repertoire owners and wider e-Commerce Store & Label management teams.
• Understand the store target market, identify and attract new demographics and revenue sources to the store by tailoring marketing accordingly.
• Be the brand ambassador for The Sound Of Vinyl both internally and externally, identifying new opportunities to grow data and revenue.
• Using Google Anal ytics to see store best sellers, traffic and conversions and optimising the store accordingly.
Key Responsibilities – Universal Music Catalogue
• Project manage e -Commer ce store builds for Universal Music Catalogue on the e-Comm platform.
• Day to day management of the store interface, ensuring banners, offers and buy buttons are appropriate and effective.
• Identify new product ranges and opportuni ties to monetise the assets of A rtist/Label/RO.
• Manage the web store release schedule with the Label/RO contact.
• Work with the Label/RO in delivering sales, stock, and profitability reporting.
• Explore new methods for generating revenu e via the A rtist website/web store.
• Manage ticketing offers alongside the RO/Label contact, fully integrating ticketing offers wi th the product release schedule.
• Work with the central e-CRM team and Label/RO Commercial and Marketing departments/contacts to ensure that e-Commerce initiatives are integrated into all market ing/CRM activities.
• Work with the Label/RO Digital and Marketing departments/contacts to ensure marketing and digital strategies adequately drive traffic and awareness of the e-Commerce solution/web store.
Key Responsibilities – General
• Day to day operations management of the web stores, ensuring products are set up, listed, images sourced, prices correct, and products are kept in stock to maximise sales potential.
• Work with UK e-Commerce Inventory & Logistics Manager to ensure products are kept in st ock to maximise sales potential throughout product life.
• Manage relationships with our key partners in the e-Commerce spac e.
• R eporting of sales trends and store activity to Label/RO contacts and Director of E-commerce
• Be abreast of developments in the e-Commerce area, particularly with regard to other artist store offerings, but in addition, good retailing practice outside of the music industry
Person specification:
E ssential
• Commercial & analytical approach to business , focussed on delivering results in line with overall store targets.
• Comprehensi ve understanding of music retail commercial opportunities including buying negotiation.
• Ability t o liaise & form relationships with suppliers.
• Exc ellent organisations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to multitask & prioritise in a fast moving environment.
• Microsoft Excel & Photoshop experience.
• A keen eye f or detail.
• A real tea m player who can also work under their own initiative when required.
• Genuine interest in music and the music industry .
• Flexibility to work hours above the normal working hours if needed.
• Above all – a go getter who wants to succeed in e-C ommerce !
Desirable
• e-Commerce/Retail experience including fulfilment operations.
• e-Commerce platform experience, ideally Magento 2.
• Experience at a Music Distributor or Music Buying background preferred.
