Description
Job title: Data & Process Analyst
Responsible to: Director, Metadata Operations
Department: Metadata
Location of work: Kensington Village
Main Purpose Of Role
This role will work closely with a refocused Metadata and Rights Support Team who will be using new busin ess rule and automated workflow tools to increase data quality and increase the efficiency around the management of data quality and establish operational intelligence insights. This role will be responsible for the on-boarding and on-going use of the Service Now platform to enable optimised processes, business validations (compliance) and operational intelligence. The role will ultimately allow for key insights and discoveries into UMG’s key metadata operations activities and as a result shape the approach the business takes in addressing any identified areas of improvement. The role will also lead the development of prototypes and the proposal of innovative technical solutions to identified problem domains.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with Service Now and internal contacts to ensure that the workflow and business validation tool is set up to realise the full business benef its
• Work with various IT departments internally to collate all necessary data and to cleanse and prepare workflow and data analysis
• Work with Senior Director and Director of Metadata Operations to ensure all business metrics are correctly conceived and accurately represent the business requirements
• Lead the development of functional prototype solutions that can be used to engage the business community in further exploring and understanding the requirements
• Developing applications to visualise and manipulate huge amounts of data (as required)
• Perform statistical tests and run reporting as required by the business
• Work with the business to develop and run new data loading techniques for our repertoire systems
• Propose innovative technical solutions to the identified problem domains
Person Specification
E ssential
• Strong, effective communication skills
• Ability to quickly understand complex business problems
• Ability to quickly learn new, emerging technologies and envisage their use within UMG’s business
• Experienced Agile practitioner
• Programming (ideally R or Python)
• Database design
• Utilise Amazon Web Service (AWS)
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Generation of graphical output
Desirable
• Experience within the music industry
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
• Full-stack developer
