How we LEAD:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and eager-to-learn candidate for Universal Music Publishing Group’s mechanical licensing team.
How you’ll CREATE:
The Coordinator will be an essential part of the team responsible for licensing audio-only recordings and will ensure that our songs are registered properly with mechanical rights societies, record labels and digital service providers. The ideal candidate will have a great attention to detail and work ethic; the capacity to handle large work volume and to do so with grace and composure; excellent communication skills and a firm handle of technology and computer systems. Passion for music is always a plus!
• Provide publishing and splits - internally, externally and via MDX hub
• Liaise with Creative Admin, Sampling and Copyright for split delivery
• Field inquiries from outside the company regarding our mechanical rights and general licensing information
• Assist in product/licensing set up as needed
• Key point person for gratis and reduced rate mechanical licensing requests
• Review requests and make recommendations to senior management, balancing business interests with those of our writers, and taking into account industry trends and precedents
• Obtain writer consent as necessary
• Assist in special projects as needed

• Ability to work both independently and within a team to achieve goals
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle pressure and deadlines
• College degree preferred
