Description
The Community Manager is responsible for strategizing supplementary or standalone artist campaigns on label-owned socials, communicating on a regular basis with Consumers / Fans / Super Fan groups and developing Influencer databases.
Job Functions:
• Run & moderate label-branded social & online properties including Capitol Records, Capitol Vaults, Virgin Records, 1Mic1Take
• Set quarterly goals to grow & develop all label-owned properties
• Strategize & implement marketing campaigns for CapitolGoods.com
• Onboarding, strategy, content, fan engagement, moderation, customer service, analytics for primary, secondary and supporting platforms.
• Support Global Marketing Teams in their artist-specific campaigns; these may be run on or off the label socials & include everything from content curation, LinkFire building, customer service, contacting winners, shipping prizes, etc.
• Work with all applicable Departments (Brand/Sync, Advertising, Publicity, Video) to support their campaigns, strategize potential partnerships, create content, etc.
• Provide analysis on all label-run campaigns & artist campaigns where applicable
• Collaborate with 103 and/or Content Intern and/or Video Team on creating content (social clips, banners, advertising units, pseudo videos, etc.)
• Monitor social platforms for leaks; work with Leaks team on take-downs
• Develop & maintain Influencer relationships for label & artist campaigns
• Analyze data, project trends & provide recaps to company & management groups
• Identify emerging platforms, onboard labels & artists
• Live-tweet / live-message award shows, concerts, promo days, etc.
• Track trending topics to gain positioning at the forefront of pop culture conversation
• Curate social calendar for label & artist properties including milestones, anniversaries, major releases, moments in label & artist history, etc.
• Liaise between UMG & UMe social teams for campaign support, content needs, special announcements, etc.
• Update label websites with press images, news posts, new artist signings, releases, remove dropped artists in timely manner, update homepage on regular basis, etc.
• Send bi-weekly emails to label lists
• Work with Head of Publicity & Corporate Publicity on company announcements, time-sensitive messaging (artist deaths, corporate events, etc.), award show messaging, etc.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Actively participates in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking, commenting, etc.
• Understanding of popular social networks – design, functionality, users
• Demonstrated ability to produce community management guidelines and documents that reflects the holistic understanding and implementation of the role of social media and its effects
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation tools and skills
• Proficiency in Photoshop, FinalCut or similar editing programs
• Proficiency in basic html, coding, website development (i.e. WordPress, etc.)
• Proficiency in social listening tools like HootSuite, Sprinklr or similar platforms
Experience:
• Proven work experience as a community manager
• Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)
• Hands on experience with social media management for brands
• Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
Education:
• Degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Entertainment background is a plus, but not required
