The UMC team is currently working from home due to the global pandemic and plans on going back into the office in 2021. You must be comfortable working in a virtual/remote environment.

Reporting to the Director, Consumer Engagement , th e Community Manager will be responsible for managing the online communities for our UMUSIC brand across many social platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about online culture, enjoys attending live shows and events (in non-pandemic times), understands how to connect with people via different online platforms and has strong written communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Manage social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.) and the CRM strategy for UMC's owned brands
• Write music news, blog, and lifestyle content
• Ensure UMUSIC's content & growth strategy is aligned to UMC's overall objectives and goals
• Create weekly newsletters that are segmented by genre to ensure our followers are receiving personalized content aligned to their tastes
• Assist with content creation when covering virtual & live events (i.e. on camera interviews with our artists), and social accounts
• Assist with creation, conception, and presentation of social media strategy and marketing campaigns
• Utilize Adobe Suite products such as Photoshop and Premiere to create static image edits, video clips, and more
• Ensure UMUSIC's content & growth strategy is aligned to UMC's overall objectives and goals
• Schedule social platforms & engage with communities
• Stay abreast of current digital trends and evolving digital technology, look for new digital marketing opportunities
• Expand your knowledge of fan communities across all music genres
• Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies
• Providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts
• Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner
• Monitor and report feedback and online reviews
• Attend live events such as concerts during evenings and weekends (when safe again to do so)
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• In-depth knowledge of fan communities (fandom culture) in the online space
• In-depth knowledge of and genuine interest in online culture, especially social networks and online tools
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Working knowledge of Analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Crowdtangle, Sprout Social) and Wordpress
• Design skills is an asset
• Video/Photo capturing and editing skills an asset
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be highly organized
• Knowledge about and passion for the music industry
• Must be creative, outgoing, enthusiastic and an independent problem-solver
