Reporting directly to the Director , Communications , you would be creating communication strategies and ensuring exposure of our artists . The ideal candidate is creative , reliable and dedicated . Above all, we are looking for someone enthusiastic and energetic , that really loves the music industry and that aspires to do great and impactful work .
Responsibilities
• Create and communicate media strategies for U MC ’s artists.
• Secure maximum exposure for artists and bands via all media channels (working with the Regional Marketing and Promotion Representatives and the core Communications team) in Canadian and key international markets.
• Plot artist promotion trips and schedul e all activities.
• Liaise daily with print and web-based media to keep informed of all current artist releases and music news.
• Work with the company’s marketing, promotion, interactive marketing departments to create and implement artist plans.
• Work with artist teams to craft stories and compelling narratives across various channels, platforms and outlets.
• Recommend and implement creative and innovative strategies to navigate changing media landscape.
• Support communications team with various administrative duties (distribution of press releases, management of media database, media monitoring).
• Attend and manage artist press and promo days, concerts, and UMC events as needed.
• Other duties/tasks as assigned .
Requirements
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in communications or public relations is required.
• Degree in Journalism, English or Public Relations strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of all media, social media and content creation.
• Excellent organization, planning and priority setting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Word and Outlook.
• Team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Exceptional computer skills
• P assionate about music and culture
