Main purpose of role
Universal Music Group (UMG) has a Commercial Partnerships department whose core role is to drive and develop digital initiatives as a central entity and to act as a centre of excellence for all territories by co-ordinating and supporting digital requirements.
One main aspect of UMG’s Commercial Affairs function is the management and co-ordination of digital partners, which span a large number of territories. As the number of key partners managed by UMG continues to grow, the focus on co-ordination, providing support and reaching targets with territories is greater than ever. The successful candidate will also work closely with territories across UMG where digital partners have a presence or plans for future rollout. We are looking for a strong account manager or project manager with a great sense of team spirit, enthusiasm and energy. The Partnership Manager will be the main point of contact within the Commercial Affairs Department for every aspect of the account. This includes liaising with other team members in Commercial Affairs, International Marketing, Production, Business Affairs, Sales Reporting and Finance as well as escalating issues to Senior Management.
Main Objectives
• Build and maintain excellent relationship with digital partners
• Build and maintain strong relationships with digital teams across UMG territories by acting as a centre of excellence to co-ordinate and support digital initiatives – account specific or wider business objectives
• Manage all aspects of the global relationship between Universal Music Group and European manage relationships and serve as the main point of contact for a number of European based digital partners as well as provide support to other US led digital partners
• Work with the VP of Commercial Partnerships and Senior Management within the Commercial Affairs team to understand business objectives and sales key performance indicators
• Negotiate marketing plans and influence partners to meet Universal’s digital marketing objectives.
• Work closely with business analysts within the Commercial Affairs function to assess results, forecast sales and analyse sales data from digital partners to establish trends and make recommendations to relevant parts of the business
• Identify new product initiatives and business development opportunities within the account and work with internal teams to make these opportunities happen
• Communicate and co-ordinate all aspects of the account announcements/developments and artist campaigns to the Universal Music Group operating companies within each territory
• Review and present the overall performance of the partners on a regular basis
• Travel may be required to territories to help with their understanding of the digital environment or as part of the maintaining and fostering a better relationship with the digital account
Person specification
Essential
• We are looking for a high calibre candidate who is confident and outgoing with a strong sense of personal drive – candidates should have a taken a proactive approach to their career
• Passionate about music or the entertainment industry and the ever-changing digital environment
• Good relevant experience in account management or as a project manager
• Proven ability to deliver the following in current or previous roles:
• Ability to demonstrate that they have successfully sought out and maximised opportunities
• Excellent ability to develop relationships, communicate and influence others
• Well organised with the ability to plan and deliver to tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to interpret financial/analytical data
• Strong communicator, negotiator and presenter
• Proactive approach to work, constantly seeking improvement in all areas
• Experience of working on own as well as part of a team, and with colleagues at all levels
• Ability to remaining calm in an often-pressured environment
• Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in PowerPoint or KeyNote, Word and Excel
• Working knowledge and interest in voice technology

• A second language would be desirable
