Description
We are seeking a Claims Analyst who will be responsible for the researching and processing of claims. The Claims Analyst maintains a working relationship with personnel of any department necessary to gather information for the purpose of resolving customer problems. They will work with the Manager as well as Senior Management to resolve special problems. The closest relationship is with the Credit Personnel, but this role will also work closely with customers and freight companies.
Job Functions:
• Research customer claims and analyze to determine if UMG should deny the claim or make a billing adjustment for pricing errors, returns, shipment discrepancies, or any other discrepancy, and deferring more complex issues to the credit management
• Prepare paperwork for billing adjustments and, if necessary, follow up with correspondence to the customer
• File claims with trucking company for lost or damaged product
• Follow established company polices for above mentioned functions
• Assist Credit staff with claims reporting, special projects, chargeback reconciliation and trouble shooting
• Travel to accounts when necessary to assist Credit staff with reconciliation meetings
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Problem solving skills
• Computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing
• Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
• 3 years claims processing experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Address issues in a timely fashion
• Must be able to work under time constraints
• Capacity to multi-task, prioritize, and juggle competing priorities
• Will be self-directed and extremely well organized
• Must be detail oriented
Experience:
• 3 Years claims processing experience
• Excellent Excel skills, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet
Education:
• Some college desired, AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred
