Description
Responsible for managing, tracking and documenting the graphics workflow within UMG. You will be assigned a client (record label/s) for which you will be in steady contact with. You will be responsible for what is the often the final step in both the physical (CD,Vinyl) and digital (iTunes, Spotify, etc.) graphic workflows.
How you’ll CREATE:
You will ensure that physical graphic files are properly archived in UMG’s global Digital Asset Repository Tool (DART) as well as other third party graphic asset tools. This requires an understanding of the graphics workflows and contacts within the record labels that you serve. Tracking down and making sure that graphic assets under individual UPCs are complete and up to date is necessary. Also required is the notification and transmission of said graphic assets to labels and other departments for the purposes of manufacturing of artwork in other territories.
As this role is often the last step in the digital graphics workflow and tight deadlines being the norm, after-hours and weekend work is required on a regular basis.
You will be responsible for the handling of graphic assets as they pertain to digital workflows as well. This includes final quality control and specification checks and adjustments to said artwork. Must be fluent and comfortable with Adobe Photoshop and digital graphics terminology.
You will also be required to handle other assets on behalf of your clients. This includes press releases, publicity photos, etc. for uploading into UMG’s Business-to-Business website. You will provide your clients with artwork as it is requested and assist in helping to guide your clients toward better graphic practices.
Individual projects as needed will also be required. This will often involve asset gathering and analysis with tracking required in either FileMaker Pro or Microsoft Excel.
Tasks include but may not be limited to:
• Documenting all steps taken using FileMaker Pro database.
• Attending label production meetings so as to know what is on the horizon.
• Communicating with record labels and other UMG departments as needed.
• Referencing print and digital release schedules.
• Assisting your label as necessary.
• Graphic asset uploading into AspenAGU on behalf of your label.
• Retouching of artwork.
• Tracking down artwork as needed. (Sticker art specifically.)
• Provide feedback and attend Graphic Services meetings as a means of improving the system overall.
• Upload artwork and press releases to B2B
• Training within UMG’s R2 system so as understand the entire digital process, enabling better service to your clients.
