The A Side: A Day in The Life
This position is for an asset researcher role at the UMGI Asset Management, as part of a team managing the music related assets of the company.
The B Side: Skills and Experience
Be Organised
• Fulfil high volume of ongoing requests in timely manner for the labels
• Searching, updating and requesting physical assets, supplying requested information and reports for clients and labels. Identifying non-digitised assets and fulfilling requests for assets to be digitised
Be Technical
• Ability to identify specific audio and video formats/types based on client / label requirements
Be Collaborative
• Deal tactfully with clients, internally and externally, at all times while passing on any significant concerns to colleagues or members of the Management team when and where necessary
• Work closely with catalogue team building a good working relationship, understanding their structure and business requirements in order to provide proper levels of support
• Supporting the asset preservation programme at our on-site studios
Be Analytical
• Conducting in-depth research work to aid ongoing projects. This will include investigating artists and their recordings/repertoire, including released and unreleased material, recording dates/venues etc
Person Specification
Necessary
• Knowledge of historical and present audio & video recording formats
• Experience of working in a strong customer focused environment
• Ability to build relationships and understand client requirements for each project
• Ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to fault find and problem solve
• Good IT skills – proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook
• Ability to work within a close team environment, flexible to cover other duties to meet key prioritises of the library
• Creation of reports using office package
• Interest in a wide variety of music styles and eras
Desirable
• Asset management or research experience
• Data entry and database experience
• Knowledge of music or video recording process
• Experience using DAW software
• Secondary language, such as German or French
