Job title: Asset Researcher

Location of work: West Thamesmead
Main purpose of role
T his position is for an asset researcher role at the UMGI Asset Management , as part of a team managing the music related assets of the company.
• Part of team managing UMG I music related assets ( au dio/video)
• Fulfil high volume of ongoing requests in timely manner for the labels
• S ourcing requested content as assets UMG systems
• S earching, updating, and requesting physical assets, using AIC index system ; and supplying requested information and reports . I d entifying non-digitised assets, and fulfilling requ ests for assets to be digitised
• Will need t o closely work with catalogue team building a good working relationship , understanding their structure and business requirements in order to provide proper levels of support
• Additional in- depth research work with catalogue areas to aid in researching ongoing projects, including knowledge of artists and their recordings/repertoire including released and unreleased materi al, recording dates/venues, etc
• C orrectly identify specific audio and video formats/types ( EQ or non-EQ master, final master, etc.) for demanding studio requirements, including mastering, flat transfers, playback, digitising, compilation jobs, video dubbing/conversions, telecine, and encoding
• Supporting the asset preservation programme at our on-site music studios
• Conducting in-depth research work to aid ongoing projects. This will include investigating artists and their recordings/repertoire, including released and unreleased materi al, recording dates/venues etc
Pe rson Specification
Essential
• Ability to build relationships with the labels , fully understanding their requirements and meeting their often demanding and fast changing requirements
• Ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines
• Good attention to detail, researching a clients request to a granular level
• Good IT skills – proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook
• Ability to work within a close team environment, flexible to cover other duties to meet key prioritises of the library
• Creation of reports using office package
• Interest in a wide variety of music styles and eras
Desirable
• L ibrarian, asset management, o r research experience
• Data entry, data systems experience
• Knowledge of music and video tapes/recording and work in a music or video studio environment helpful, but full training given
• Secondary language, such as German or French
