DIRECTOR, CREATIVE ADVERTISING
This position serves an instrumental role in managing projects for their creative executive and liaising with upper-management, filmmakers and co-workers. Primary responsibilities revolve around assisting in the creation of domestic print and audiovisual materials used in promoting feature films for United Artists Releasing. This role requires the flexibility and focus to handle development of creative materials for multiple movies simultaneously at varying stages of the creative process. This person must be task oriented, extremely organized, and be able to make quick and confident decisions, while also being an effective communicator.
Responsibilities:
• Management of print advertising materials (one-sheets, outdoor, standees, etc.)
o Reviewing creative with creative executive and supervising copy and art revisions and/or next steps to outside agencies; trafficking creative materials (unit photography, dailies, etc) to and from outside agencies
o Monitoring creative changes and preparing materials for presentation
o Presenting ads to upper level executives and submitting ads for filmmaker and talent approval
o Setting up talent photo shoots; serving as liaison between the studio and talent representation and managing all aspects with outside advertising agencies from photo shoot concept approval through execution of shoot
o Working in tandem with print production to develop and implement schedules to meet material deadlines
o Overseeing the finishing of key art for use in theatrical one-sheets, outdoor, newspaper. Aspects include approving color correction and retouching; proofing and approval of print mechanicals
• Management of audio-visual materials (Trailers, TV, Radio and Promotional Reels)
• Managing high-security film elements and delivery of source materials to outside agencies
• Reviewing creative with creative executive and communicating revisions and/or next steps to outside agencies; preparing reels and quality control checking tapes for presentation
• Overseeing audio visual post-production in the finishing of trailers, TV and Radio spots
• Approving color correction and audio mixes for TV spots and mixes for TV and Radio spots; promotional reels
• Working in conjunction with the Publicity department to cull quotes and reviews; obtain approvals and quote clearances for newspaper, TV, and Radio spots
• Overseeing and facilitating music clearances for trailers and TV's; coordinating the creation of original score cues for use in TV and Radio
• Coordinating clearances with the networks and the MPAA
• Communicating project updates (direction, status updates) to co-workers in various departments including research, exhibitor relations, International, Print and Audio Visual Post-Production.
• Negotiating creative fees and monitoring creative budgets in excess of $2-6 million; ensuring creative executive remains on target budget through film release
• Consulting with legal department on paid ads/talent contracts as it pertains to talent likeness and parity issues; any and all advertising restrictions; implementing creative changes as necessary
• Aiding International in the creation of creative materials by sharing domestic print and audio visual campaign explorations
• Preparing materials for qualitative and quantitative testing; analyzing research results to enhance creative direction
Qualifications:
• Two or more years of experience in the Creative Advertising department of a studio
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid US Passport as there may be some travel required
