Full Time Job
Team Coco is looking for an audio engineer to help lead production on podcasts across the network. In addition to our existing slate of successful shows like Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and Literally! With Rob Lowe, the team is ramping up production on several shows which will feature a wide range of voices and formats. Our ideal candidate is creative, collaborative and detail-oriented, with a deep love for humor and storytelling. Experience as a composer or sound designer is a huge plus. The candidate will be able to independently execute every step of podcast production, from running recording sessions to mixing and mastering the final product. The candidate will demonstrate excellent editorial sensibilities, as they will be shaping the sound and tone of the show, selecting and placing music, and editing content. There will also be opportunities to create original music and audio backdrops for our shows. The candidate will be deadline-oriented and work closely with the production team to create and execute production planning. The engineer will report to the executive producer.
The Daily
• Work closely with the production team to create funny, expertly-crafted content
• Edit interviews Select and place music (ability to arrange/rearrange stems a huge plus)Engineer in-studio and remote recordings
• Mix and master external facing audio including ads, episodes, promos, etc.
• Manage audio assets
• Manage, advise on, and order technical equipment
• Assist guests and production staff with technical needs, including troubleshooting issues with ProTools, and setting them up with equipment
The Essentials
• Minimum four years of professional audio production experience
• Experience working in radio or podcasts
• ProTools expert
• Knowledgeable about recording equipment and programs, especially for remote recordings
• Skilled with mixing/mastering plug-in suites like Waves and Izotope.
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Experience working closely with a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Close attention to detail at every step of the production process
• Experience building out production schedules Ability to edit music and place music
• Ability to compose, sound design, and arrange music stems is a huge a plus
