We are currently looking to recruit an experienced HR Business partner, this is a fantastic opportunity to provide a proactive, pragmatic generalist HR service to our teams across CNN EMEA. Taking into consideration the news cycle and operational needs you will have the confidence to work closely with our managers and employees advising on a variety of HR related subjects and be able to influence, develop and support Managers on HR best practice.
Working in partnership with the CNN HR team globally and the broader Warner Media HR Centres of Excellence you will be able to create credible and professional relationships providing commercially focused and practical solutions to support and meet our short, mid and long-term business objectives.
What you'll be doing:
• Develop and maintain close working relationships across the CNN teams, providing a responsive first-class HR service. You will be aware and understand their business objectives and focus on ensuring that the work you do is adding real value and helping them to achieve their goals.
• Confident to advise Managers on implications of organisational changes (at an individual and team level), responsible for ensuring we are legally compliant and act as a true partner questioning thinking on proposed changes and remaining curious.
• Provide timely and accurate advice to Employees and Managers on any ER related issues, challenging where required always ensuring we are legally compliant following a best practise approach.
• Communicate and implement Warner Media's HR strategies and initiatives ensuring they are tailored accordingly to suit relevant teams bearing in mind that one approach may not fit all.
• Support Line Managers in effectively managing their people through utilising and partnering with our broader internal HR COE's taking advantage of their specialist knowledge and approach.
• Work with line Managers to identify effective talent and succession plans helping them to build high performing teams for now and the future.
• Coach Managers to focus on driving performance and supporting employees through effective and fair evaluation processes implementing specific performance improvement plans where required.
• Work with the broader Warner Media diversity teams to advise on the implementation of the company's Diversity strategy and related policies and procedures, particularly in relation to recruitment, promotion, career development, and creating an open, inclusive culture within Warner Media where differences are respected and valued.
• Be the interface with the MyHR first tier resolution team to help facilitate all requests for headcount additions or changes, ensure that job descriptions, org charts and any other relevant reports are updated accordingly.
• Participate in broader CNN International projects and initiatives
• Always be of the mindset to challenge the conventional and think how can we do this differently and be even more effective in how we support our teams being a true partner.
• Undertake cool HR project work on an individual basis and sometimes as part of a broader tac team across International.
What we're looking for:
Essential:
• Proven HR experience in a fast-paced organisation where you have been commercially focused with a real emphasis on supporting the client.
• Super strong communication skills, someone who can inspire confidence and support our employees and managers with a positive can-do attitude.
• Someone who has a strong intellectual capacity with the ability to analyse, understand and advise on what can sometimes be complex HR issues.
• A real hands-on attitude, someone that can be proactive in identifying areas of improvement not only across CNN but also within the broader Warner Media HR teams.
• Someone who keeps an open mind when looking at situations and can flex accordingly to ensure ultimately, we are doing the right thing for the business but staying legally compliant.
• A good understanding of UK Employment Law in theory and in practise is a must!
• Needless to say, a good sense of humour is essential!
Desirable:
• European language speakers would be advantageous.
• Ideally CIPD Qualified or with proven hands on practical experience
• Experience of supporting teams in locations across EMEA would be great (specifically the UAE)
