The Turner Classic Movies Story
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is a two-time Peabody Award-winning network that presents great films, uncut and commercial-free, from the largest film libraries in the world highlighting the entire spectrum of film history. Currently in its 24th year as a leading authority in classic film, TCM offers critically acclaimed series along with annual programming events like 31 Days of Oscar® in February and Summer Under the Stars in August. TCM also directly connects with movie fans through events as the annual TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood, the TCM Big Screen Classics series in partnership with Fathom Events, as well as through the TCM Classic Film Tour in New York City and Los Angeles. In addition, TCM produces a wide range of media about classic film, including books and DVDs, and hosts a wealth of material online at tcm.com and through the Watch TCM mobile app.

What does our department do?
This team is responsible for the editorial content on TCM's streaming movie service, FilmStruck. A site dedicated to classic, cult, arthouse and indie film, this exciting venture brings the world of cinema to viewers wherever and whenever they want via a range of devices. As for this team's specific duties, we enter the metadata and copy that accompanies themes and titles on the service, as well as the information that makes this material searchable to a viewer/user.
• Write original or edit existing copy related to theme descriptions and plot synopses.
• Enter title and theme level metadata (credits, genres, runtime, rating, keywords, plot synopses, etc.).
• Research the above information to make sure it is accurate and up to our standards.
What will you be doing?
• Cataloging metadata associated with the weekly round of titles and themes entering FilmStruck.
• QC this metadata to make sure it correctly reflects the title, actor, director, etc. Because the service utilizes a large volume of international films, things like accent marks, alternate titles, date of premiere, etc. all must be verified to properly portray the film and those who worked on it.
• Work with the administrative software to enter the above information.
• Research information online, from something as simple as a IMdb or Wikipedia search to more intense investigation for foreign and short films.
What do we require from you?
• Knowledge of MAC and Microsoft Office (primarily Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Proper spelling and grammar is mandatory
• Knowledge of film history is extremely beneficial
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• See tasks through to completion
• Demonstrate the ability to multitask and juggle assignments as needed
What's so great about this internship?
• An opportunity to work with a great team that is passionate about the same thing you are!
• Networking opportunities to meet people that you'd like to know!
• A speaker series that introduces you to cool executives and what they do for the best brands!
