Director, Content Strategy HBO Max
The Content Strategy Planning Director will be responsible for supporting the HBO Max Content Strategy team driving new data-based strategies to inform acquisitions, originals and library content mix as the platform grows. This position will report to the Vice President of Content Strategy and Planning.
The Daily
• Key liaison between Content Strategy and Data/Research teams to assess existing and new content categories, in partnership with Acquisitions, DTC strategy and Finance teams
• Serve as Content Team point of contact with cross functional partners for new business models assessments
• Work closely with Acquisitions team in assessing content opportunities, including offering input into avails/selects, and tracking marketplace and content deal trends
• Regularly present data-based analyses and reports on internal and competitive content strategy
• Work collaboratively and build strong internal partnerships across acquisitions, research, originals and product
The Essentials
• 6-9 years of experience in content and/or financial planning and analysis at an SVOD, AVOD and/or digital content studio
• Experience in data-based content analytics and planning within a AVOD and/or SVOD multi-model environments
• Exceptional proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Docs, and ability to quickly and proactively learn or adapt to new tools as needed with a deep attention to details and commitment to accuracy
• Strong presentation skills with excellent communication skills and commitment to accountability and transparency
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment and across a matrixed organization, and flexible attitude in a startup environment
• Analytical mindset, ability to understand how to apply data and insights to strategy to help drive results and identify opportunities
• Passionate content enthusiast across series, film, movies across all demos and genres
• Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative spirit; a positive, forward-thinking attitude and ability to roll up your sleeves
• Proactive mindset that allows for self-sufficiency and self-starter work ethic
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and constantly evolving organizations, and to thrive in an extremely fast-paced and high-pressure working environment
• Reports to VP with 1 role reporting in to this position
• Bachelor's degree
• MBA /MA preferred
• Minimum 10-12 years working experience in a digital, SVOD/AVOD, and/or content role
