CNN Audio: Podcast Revenue Partnerships Director
WarnerMedia seeks an Audio Business Development Director for the CNN Audio, Product department. The role will report to CNN Audio's Head of Partnerships and will work closely with the various internal teams (including but not limited to: Warner Media Ad Sales Team, Warner Media Ad Tech Product leads, CNN Digital Research, etc.) with the goal of CNN Audio revenue optimization. The role will closely collaborate with the Warner Media Sales team support their ad revenue optimization efforts. The candidate should have existing podcast advertiser and agency relationships, expertise in the digital audio and podcast advertising and ad tech landscape. Note: This is not a sales position.
The Daily
• Designated CNN Audio revenue lead for all CNN and Warner Media internal teams (including close alignment with the Warner Media podcast sales team).
• Manage CNN Audio's advertiser go-to-market story to position CNN Audio as a leader in the podcast space.
• Act as an internal consultant and expert resource on podcast advertising.
• Work closely with the WM sales team to understand podcast ad marketplace needs and provide insights to the CNN Audio team.
• Collaborate with WM sales team to develop sales solutions that align with CNN Audio content priorities.
• Collaborate with the Warner Media sales team to develop priorities and annual revenue goals.
• Collaborate with the WM sales team on the go-to-market podcast ad sales strategy.
• Develop data-driven insights to support WM sales in the development of future monetization strategy.
• Provide data-driven insights on past content monetization performance
• Identify and resolve barriers to support WM sales team ad revenue efforts
• Provide weekly and monthly sales data reports to provide transparency to CNN stakeholders
• Understanding of past, present and non-existing advertiser relationships to help the WM Sales team maximize revenue and develop future ad sales opportunities
• Be the lead CNN Audio representative with podcast ad tech and data vendor (Triton Media)
• Provide data-driven reporting and insights to CNN Audio team
• Act as an internal consultant and expert resource on podcast monetization
• Identify opportunities in key verticals and industry trends
• Understand the roles of and support the work of the sales operations team
The Essentials
• Existing podcast agency and advertiser relationships
• Expertise in the podcast advertising market place (advertisers, agencies, programmatic networks/DSPs, ad tech, etc.)
• Ability to develop relationships internally and externally to meet goals
• Customer service-oriented (internal and external customers)
• Exceptional organizational skills
• High level of understanding of Traffic and/or Dynamic Ad Insertion ad delivery technology
• Understanding of ad technology to identify barriers
• 10 years of experience in a podcast sales role
• 5 years of experience securing, managing, and maintaining strategic revenue relationships
• Typically 5 years of management experience
