Search for Bookkeeper for NYC Music Company jobs in New York-NY
New York City music label --specializing in R&B, Rap, and Jazz-- is seeking a bookkeeper who can grow into a finance manager to maintain QuickBooks Online ledgers. We own a music catalog and earn income selling records, receiving royalties, and negotiating sync licenses. We need someone who can keep our books, generate billing and invoicing, and grow to be able to generate royalties and audit the statements of our third parties that account to us. If you have a passion for the music industry and want to move up the ladder for a growing finance department, this is your opportunity.
Position Responsibilities:
Basic bookkeeping, A/P, A/R, Reconciling in Quickbooks, the ability to collect royalties from third parties even if an audit is needed, and the ability to disperse them to other third parties is a plus
The candidate must have the following:
2 years of QuickBooks Online (QBO) Bookkeeping experience
2 years A/P QBO Bill Payment and A/R QBO Invoicing experience
Bank and credit card reconciliation experience is a must
Knowledge of GAAP as it applies to music industry revenue recognition (royalty accounting experience is a plus)
Entrepreneurial spirit
*NO ARTISTS, NO ARTIST MANAGERS, NO A&R, NO STUDIO ENGINEERS*
Schedule, location and rate:
30 hours per week during business hours, on-site, commensurate with experience
New York City residents are a very big plus. If you are from out of town, you are taking a huge chance on a very tight rental market.
