Account Executive

This is a Full Time Job

MAJOR PURPOSE:
Responsible for professionally representing FOX40 in all aspects of the sales process including achieving individual sales goals and set forth by the Local Sales Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Execute and achieve sales goals, and tabulate pending sales to Local Sales Manager
• Negotiate effectively, maximizing CPPs and inventory
• Develop relationships with clients and agencies
• Communicate estimated closing rates weekly in order to help management set effective selling rates
• Adhere to rate guidelines unless deviation is authorized by Sales Manager
• Adhere to credit and collection guidelines, and substantiate all requests for under-deliver with posting
• Organize Key Account Analysis that includes strategy and tasks for each major local account
• Utilize budgeted expense account for entertainment purposes
• Travel outside market area to visit clients as necessary
• Maintain visibility at appropriate local functions
• Additional duties as necessary

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing and/or equivalent related experience
• 1-3 years successful experience in sales

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have a valid California Driver's License with a good driving record
• Professional appearance and demeanor are essential
• Good command of the English language, oral and written
• Proficiency in Nielsen, OneDomain, Scarborough, Wide Orbit and Kantar is required
• Must have ability to work with minimum supervision and ability to multi-talk
• Must have proven customer service, problem solving and analytical skills
• Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated
• A professional appearance and telephone manner is essential
• Must have proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
• Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations

Working Relationships
• Cooperation with staff both within KTXL and Tribune Corporate staff
• Works with clients and viewers over the phone on a regular basis
