Role
The Development Director will be responsible for creating new, long term senior relationships with potential new client partners. The role will focus on building trailer Park’s future client list, in both the entertainment and brand space. This exciting new addition to the TP leadership team will have a wealth of experience in 360 marketing and come with a proven track record of successful business development that converts into sustainable revenue. We’re looking for someone who is extremely well connected with senior marketing executives, thrives on big strategic conversations with clients and is able to navigate any business partnership, therefore setting the agency up for long term success.
Responsibilities
STRATEGICALLY MINDED
This role requires a strategic thinker who is able to gain a deep understanding of the agency capabilities, recommend how we develop and package those capabilities and match them to client needs. Creating a clear, strategic roadmap for agency development will be key, as well as an ongoing strategic approach to any conversation, RFI or pitch process. Pro-actively targeting key industry prospects will need to be a large part of the development roadmap.
RELATIONSHIPS
The ideal candidate will already have a host of authentic, senior marketing relationships both in the brand and entertainment space. They will also be a natural at building, genuine, long term relationships with potential clients, consultants and colleagues. We’re not looking for a sales person, we are looking for a relationship person that can drive revenue by building authentic partnerships between agency and client.
MATERIALS & PRESENTATION
A large part of this role is in-person client presentations. This candidate should be confident, well-spoken, and able to field/discuss high level conversations in the room. They will also be able to build their own decks and presentations to engage clients in their storytelling, by adapting the agency credentials to meet individual client needs.
PROCESS
The ideal candidate will be able to track and monitor their ongoing leads in an organized, shareable fashion. They will enjoy collaborating with the lead strategy, lead creative and lead account individuals to work towards united success and client conversion.
Experience in all the various ways agencies and clients form a partnership will be crucial to this role, credentials, chemistry, tissue meetings, formal pitches, procurement and so on.
We’re also looking for someone who is very familiar with agency and production processes as well as a leading a pitch team to success and finally, so great negotiator who navigate deal structures and financial agreements and contracts.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
Collaboration with Trailer Park Strategy Lead, Account Lead, and divisional Creative Directors is essential for success.
The core team will work together to drive business growth, agency fame and client success. This role will also work closely with reps from the platforms (Google, Facebook/Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat) to stay on top of best practices and recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
15 years’ experience in Advertising Agency or marketing roles
Management experience
Portfolio of successful pitch wins and proven revenue growth within an agency
Entrepreneurial and proactive approach.
Curious and passionate about social/digital creative and platform/technology innovation.
Creative problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management and follow-through skills.
Strong work ethic.
Goal oriented; Self- Starter.
