Benefits Manager (Temporary)

Role
Trailer Park is currently looking for a motivated Benefits Manager.
Responsibilities
• Work with the Head of HR to administer employee benefits programs, such as medical, dental, life and disability insurance plans and 401(k).
• Coach employees on benefit options and answer benefits related questions.
• Maintain benefit records andapprove all enrollments in ADP.
• Resolve employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
• Maintaining working relationships with benefits and 401k providers and brokers.
• Manage Wellness programs and budgets.
• Responsible for all benefits billing - dental, vision, Legal, Mutual of Omaha (life/ADD, Vol Life/ADD DBL/PFL.)
• Self-billing – handle all the self-billing for all Engine companies for Metlife and Mutual of Omaha. Submit bills & backup to accounting for payment monthly
• Assist newly hired employees with enrollment, and meet with all employees during open enrollment periods to explain benefits plans and options.
• Track benefits eligibility of freelancers
• Create enrollment reports as needed
• Responsible for annual ACA reporting for all Engine companies. Work closely with company HRBP’s to ensure accuracy of their employee population reporting.
• Responsible for annual 5500 filings for benefits and 401k plans
• Manage all Leaves of Absences for Trailer Park and Engine Group
• Maintain LOA status changes in ADP.
• Communicate with payroll regarding payments owed to employees (parental, FTO)
• Complete all paperwork, claim forms, SDI notices, PFL claims
• Communicate with employees regarding their rights, eligibility, benefits for LOA
• Report any Workers comp claims and follow up on status with adjusters and broker as needed
• Responsible for administering annual open enrollment. Partner with Brokers and HR on renewals, rates, and employee communications
• Create Open Enrolment communication for employees
• Audit enrollment changes and approve enrollments as needed
• Set up cobra enrollments in ADP and employer subsidies in Wageworks
• Receive notification from wageworks regarding enrollments, terminations, changes
• Responsible for annual EEO1 filings. Ensure accuracy of data in ADP for employee populations.
• Responsible for annual medicare part D notifications to employees. Do the annual creditable coverage filing
Qualifications
Job Related Qualification Standards
• 5 years’ Benefits Administration and HR experience including managing processes, people management, and data entry management.
• Experience with Benefits Administration, Worker Compensation, Employment Law, and Developing Standards.
• Must be detailed oriented and accurate with data.
• Ability to use computers effectively to manage HR data and generate reports from various data systems.
• High level of computer expertise including spreadsheets and presentation applications.
• Must have the ability to respond and interact with all levels of organizational staff.
Knowledge/Skills
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and reporting skills.
• Works collaboratively and proactively on multi-functional teams.
