We are currently hiring for the position of:
Senior Manager, Ticketing Operations
The Senior Manager, Ticketing Operations is the internal-facing authority for TIFFs ticketing systems. They must understand the needs of TIFF (and its audiences) as much as having a comprehensive understanding of the systems we use to deliver our events, Memberships and Donations. Manages a consistent, accurate delivery of year-round programming and then transitions to a large-scale project management role of Festival ticketing for 4 months of the year.
Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day operations of administrative team. Define processes and approaches and help team refine these when issues or inefficiencies are found.
• Translate business needs into system realities. Establish and maintain the structures, seating, holds and pricing for all TIFF activities that take place in our ticketing systems.
• Represent interests of ticketing as a whole in multi-departmental committees and working groups
• Manage external Ticketmaster relationship in weekly meetings and escalations. Coordinate Ticketmaster support for Festival from a build, user and field technology perspective
• Plan and deliver all Festival accreditation from requirements gathering through printing and on-site support
• Ensure event scanning is enabled accurately and manage the scan reporting team for Festival
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise in any ticketing or adjacent systems quickly and escalate appropriately
• Explain ticketing data to any internal group that needs clarification, and ensure that reporting needs are factored into ticketing builds initially
Minimum Requirements
• 5 years experience building events in ticketing systems and/or managing customer/transactional-oriented databases
• Experience managing a customer facing online e-commerce platform.
• Experience managing a team of system administrators/ data managers
• Experience with Archtics and Ticketmaster products as asset
• Understand ticketing core competencies – seating/maps, holds, pricing
• Understand, implement and enforce rules around online access and sale structure
• Continuously work to improve the audience experience in ticketing as new options and technologies become available
• Work confidently with intermediate-level database/spreadsheet tools and concepts (e.g. pivot tables, joins, etc.)
• Ensure all team Members understand all aspects of their role and relationship to the rest of TIFF
• Provide training and mentorship to all direct and indirect reports
• Work with direct reports to address issues (both technical and performance-related) and to provide opportunities for growth/learning
• Plan Festival build end-to-end including timelines, resourcing and scope of work
• Organize departmental schedules: time off, weekly workloads/task distribution, support coverage
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
