We are currently hiring for the position of:
Assistant, Human Resources
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for supporting our busy Human Resources team with general HR duties and initiatives within the 2019 Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities
• Human Resources:
• Assist with the recruitment process, including posting jobs, collecting and screening resumes, arranging interview schedules, conducting interviews and reference checks, and arranging orientation sessions
• Prepare HR documents; transfer letters, confirmation of employment, and letters of promotion
• Coordinate employee onboarding activities
• Maintain employee digital and physical files
• Execute on day-to-day administration of the team and ongoing and ad hoc projects
• Coordinates human resources communications efforts, using staff intranet, social media and other communications tool
• Administer HR (BambooHR and/or Lever) and accounting software (NetSuite) duties including but not limited to invoice processing, onboarding and offboarding activities.
• Assist with researching information and in updating Human Resources policies, procedures, and processes
Payroll:
• Act as payroll and benefits backup to our Payroll Manager
• Assist with preparing monthly financial statements
• Assist with payroll when needed
• Assist with inputting monthly journal entries
Minimum Requirements
• Post secondary education in business, human resources or related field
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Adaptable and able to work effectively within time constraints and with competing priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to proactively problem-solve and take initiative within scope of role
• Computer savvy and comfortable with MS Windows, MS Office, Google Suite, social media, etc
• Some exposure to Payroll system(s), desirable
• Knowledge of Human Resources best practices, provincial employment legislation or payroll and benefits administration an asset
• Able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
• Able to work occasional evenings and weekends during Festival season
Contract Dates
• 1 year contract starting in January 2019
