Titmouse is looking for a Creative Director to join our dynamic development and creative teams. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative designer and leader with impeccable taste, bold design sensibility, attention to detail, solid understanding of the animation process and principles, and a high level of skills across a variety of platforms. We are looking for a creative leader, mentor, strategic thinking and storyteller to play a central role in growing our creative and content team. The ideal candidate feels passionately about the work and when it comes to our clients, is obsessed with bringing their vision to life. When it comes to the team, they are zealous about working together as well as confident about leading others.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Creative Director is the point person on presentations and new creative pitches (series and advertising), shaping concepts and leading the studio creative team under the supervision of Studio CCO and President. The Creative Director manages project development, and internal creative projects (concept and written materials) to finish, and manages the Development team. Projects could include: current series, features and shorts, commercials, merchandise, promotional materials, and any other creative projects or productions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet and exceed the expectations of the President, COO, and CCO for creative excellence by pushing for great work from the start of every project.
Remain current with entertainment and pop culture; bring this knowledge to the projects and require it of your teams.
Taking general meetings with prospective clients and creatives across television, film, advertising, and video game industries.
Consult with the Development team in developing creative presentations, coordinating pitches, and be a strong creative representative in front of clients.
Participate in creation of pitch materials, including scripts, decks, and sizzle reels.
Reading/reviewing/offering opinions on scripts.
Adding comments/editorial commenting on scripts and pitch decks.
Discuss development agreement deal points with internal Business Affairs, President, and COO.
Manage and cultivate talent.
Manage, motivate and inspire the various creative teams.
Create new pathways to solicit and evaluate pitches for potential development.
Present with confidence and experience; be able to read a room and adapt your presentation style accordingly to different clients.
Be a sounding board and supportive creative leader for the team, while at the same time making sure the team understands the high expectations of the work.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of experience in animation/entertainment industry.
3+ years leading and developing creative talent.
Strong portfolio or inspiring and relevant design work.
Expert knowledge of Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and G-Suite Applications.
Exceptional written and verbal communication.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with experience offering guidance, encouragement and individual development to more inexperienced team members.
Engaging and convincing presentation style that connects with and inspires executive business leaders.
The right candidate will have a strong understanding of what it takes to persuade people, internally and externally, to get excellent work made. They will have exceptional interpersonal savvy, the ability to relate well to all kinds of people, build rapport, form constructive and effective relationships, utilize diplomacy and tact, and defuse even high-tension situations comfortably.
