Tippett Studio is a unique, Academy Award winning, full service visual effects company that specializes in CG character animation for movies and television commercials. Founded in 1984 by Phil Tippett, the Studio is located in Berkeley, California.
We are currently hiring experienced Nuke Compositors.
SUMMARY:
Composites visual effects shots using NUKE and in-house software packages in our Linux based production pipeline
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The compositor works directly with all creative and production departments to assemble the elements needed to create a final shot. This includes background plates, green/blue screen, 3D elements, and photographic elements
Compositors also perform all 2D tasks required to take a shot to final: integrating CG and photographic images, 2D animation, plate restoration and matte extraction, 2D tracking, and helping with color correction, paint fixes and roto.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum three years experience in compositing digital visual effects for feature films preferred.
• Experience with NUKE required.
• Production experience in a Linux environment required.
• An eye for color and composition is necessary. Knowledge of movement, 2D animation skills, color correction and matting skills are required.
• Must be able to work with a team, taking direction and exercising attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment. Strong communication skills are critical.
• Experience with Maya or another 3d package is a plus.
• Background in Art/Photography or related production experience is a plus.
