The Tinopolis Group is an international TV production and distribution group with businesses based in the UK and US and a portfolio spanning 13 content production companies across all genres - from big scale entertainment and award-winning factual to critically acclaimed drama and ground-breaking live sports coverage. Current projects include Emmy award winning Top Chef, Emmy award winning Project Runway, Emmy nominated American Ninja Warrior, cult favorites Nailed It! And Cold Justice among many others.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, detail orientated, team-player, and results-driven individual for the full-time position of Music Assistant based in Los Angeles.
The US based Music department handles Music Supervision for all US based programming, including creative, clearance, licensing, managing of composers in addition to managing three catalogs of Tinopolis owned music and liaising with our sister companies worldwide to enact a global music strategy. Our departments' functions are key to the success of the entire global team.
- This role is an entry level position responsible for aiding the Music Department on all facets of TV & Film music. This role is based in Los Angeles, CA and will report directly to the VP of Music and will be working closely with all members of the music team as we collectively carry out our priorities. This position will impact the team by being an organized and proactive team player with a great ability to integrate a spirited approach to multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
THE ROLE
• Prepare, process, administer and submit cue sheets for our compelling programming in a timely and efficient manner.
• Work with various network cue sheet administrators to follow specific deliverable requirements and deadlines.
• Conduct song data research with various PRO's and publishers to obtain accurate information when needed.
• Listen to, catalogue, tag and organize all music delivered by composers for various projects.
• Work closely with the entire department to make sure all incoming score is tagged and distributed properly.
• Ensure that score is being added to the company database in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the company's publisher on a regular basis to ensure any new score delivered is also getting properly registered.
• Assist in creating internal reports outlining new score as needed.
• Alert supervisor of any new music received as it gets added to the drives and internal system.
• Manage and update any 3rd party libraries used within the companies' avid system.
• Assist with clearance and license tracking as requested by supervisor.
• Assist with creative searches as requested by supervisor.
• Assist with any other departmental needs as requested by supervisor.
WHAT SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAITS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• A passion for and knowledge of music, especially composed score.
• A love for reality, docu, competition and sports based programming.
• A high school level education, or its equivalent, is required. A baccalaureate or bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, preferably with a major in business, augmented by coursework in principles of music business, copyright law and/or related fields.
• 1 year experience working in a synch department or for a music supervisor, internships acceptable.
• Understanding of music clearance, music rights and music publishing.
• Unparalleled organizational skills and unwavering attention to detail.
• Must have expert knowledge of iTunes, Spotify, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), Google Drive, BOX, DropBox and High Tail
• Clear, concise communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably on multiple projects under tight timeframes in a fast-paced production environment.
• Highly collaborative with the ability to be fluid and respond positively to change and new ideas.
• Ability to pivot quickly and be resourceful, think practically and be solution-oriented.
• Curiosity and eagerness to tackle additional projects and matters outside area of expertise.
• Interest in building relationships with composers, libraries, labels, publishers, artists and studios.
• Tech-savvy individual preferred.
