Job Summary:
The Vice President, Human Resources (HR) serves as a strategic HR leader for The Walt Disney Studios across the Disney Music Group, Technology, Studio Operations, Finance, Legal, Labor Relations and Business Affairs, as well as leads the Organizational Development, Learning and Workforce Insights functions across the full portfolio of the Studios' business. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a combination of strong business acumen and broad-based HR knowledge to guide the development of comprehensive and integrated HR strategies that attract, develop and retain the breadth of talent required to drive business success. The VP also leads the continuous improvement of the HR function in collaboration with other HR executives to build a world-class organization with strong employee engagement.
Responsibilities:
• Actively consult with senior business leaders to identify and evaluate gaps between ''current'' and ''desired'' performance and develop comprehensive and integrated HR strategies that:
• Attract and retain diverse talent to meet future business needs
• Enable employees to have an impact and drive results
• Optimize organizations and operating models for top performance
• Lead HR executive teams in the development and execution of solutions that bring HR strategies to life aligned with Studio and each client's objectives and culture, including:
• Business strategies (i.e. vision, mission, values, objectives) that enable organizational effectiveness and efficiency
• Talent acquisition, development and retention practices aligned to current and future business needs
• Organization structures, roles and processes that meet shifting business demands
• Performance management practices that promote engagement and a culture of continuous development
• Business plans to ensure an inclusive approach to employees, audiences and partners
• Change management that facilitates critical transformations that are sustainable over time
• Workforce insights to inform org and talent decisions and assist in monitoring progress towards goals
• Leadership development programs and resources to support business, org and talent priorities
• Lead a HRBP team responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies aligned to the unique demands of each client and positioned as proactive and trusted business partners. Provide on-going coaching and development and encourage diversity of thought to promote an inclusive culture where team members demonstrate their best abilities and deliver meaningful results. Proactively integrate functional partners into client work, providing critical coaching and context to enable partners to make effective contributions and support the implementation of HR priorities across Studio businesses.
• Lead an internal consulting team of OD, Learning and Workforce Analytics/Insights (''WFIA'') practitioners responsible for developing and implementing common HR strategies across the full portfolio of the Studios' business. Create networks, including HRBPs and functional partners, to collaborate on the execution of priorities across lines of business. Provide on-going coaching and development and encourage diversity of thought to promote an inclusive culture where team members demonstrate their best abilities and deliver meaningful results. Serve as the Studio lead for company-wide Learning, OD and Workforce Insights partners to help align resources to Studio and Company priorities.
Basic Qualifications:
• 15 Years of HR generalist or related experience, ideally as a senior HR executive for a multi-functional, multi-line-of-business organization;
• 8 Years in leading and developing staff professionals;
• Proven ability to proactively translate changing business objectives to effective HR strategies;
• Relevant experience driving complex org design, talent and change strategies to effectively align the organization and talent to deliver on new business objectives;
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop, drive and contribute to overall strategy and business plans in a rapidly developing/changing environment;
• Strong knowledge and experience with HR Business Partner (generalist), Talent Acquisition/Planning, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Change Management, and Diversity & Inclusion functions;
• Exceptional client relationship management skills and demonstrated experience in developing consultative relationships with top executive leaders, including the ability to influence decision makers to think strategically and critically;
• Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and respond to HR and company metrics;
• Broad business and financial understanding and the ability to apply to human capital implications;
• Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business/financial data and develop innovative and holistic HR solutions;
• Proven experience building an effective, relevant HR consulting group to deliver integrated business solutions to clients;
• Models excellent judgment and demonstrates the courage to take smart risks that improve business performance;
• Team player who quickly builds trust and collaborative working relationships with business leaders and partners;
• Demonstrated ability to proactively embrace and drive positive, transformational change;
• Knowledge of employment and labor law required;
Preferred Qualifications:
• PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree required;
Preferred Education
• Master's Degree with emphasis Human Resource Management, Organization Development or Business preferred;
