The Distribution Coordinator will be responsible for providing technical operational and customer service support related to the distribution of television programming to Broadcast & Cable clients throughout the U.S and Canada. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to meet short and long-term media processing and delivery deadlines. The Distribution Coordinator must have a general understanding of Broadcast & Cable technical distribution workflows required to distribute product and effectively collaborate with his or her peers, external vendors and other Disney Partners to ensure on-time delivery of compliant content. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Distribution Services.
Responsibilities:
• Research video and audio elements to determine availability of formats, aspect ratios, resolutions, etc. in order to fulfill servicing requests
• Create screening materials, promotion and clip-licensing requests (as applicable)
• Coordinate with Clients, TV Editorial for the formatting and delivery of file and tape based media for distribution of episodic and feature content to clients
• Coordinate with Post Production for the Domestic Source materials required to create an episodic file based Domestic Mastering workflow
• Coordinate distribution of technical support documents
• Coordinate tasks and timelines with multiple clients and vendors (both internal and external)
• Identify, communicate and maintain client technical specifications as required to produce deliverables: trouble-shoot accordingly
• Evaluate and process quality control reports, rejection reports and trouble shoot accordingly
• Generate work orders, purchase orders and track expenses
• Interface with internal Disney partners as well as television clients in both the U.S and Canada
• Interface with 3rd party vendors who provide content distribution services on our behalf
• Manage technical product and delivery data in designated servicing applications
• Provide support for on-going projects within the department
Basic Qualifications:
• 2 years of media distribution or operations experience at a post vendor, studio, television network or digital video platform
• Familiarity with file based media and tape formats
• Energetic, self-motivated, team player; collaborates well with others
• Strong communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven, fast paced, technical/data-oriented Environment
• Strong attention to detail & the ability to prioritize
• Proficient in Excel / Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of audio/video formats (PAL; NTSC; HD; SD), television standards, frame rates, video resolutions, aspect ratios and media file formats
• Knowledge of content security technologies and policies
Preferred Qualifications:
• Broadcast & Cable servicing experience preferred, for both episodic television and feature (edited-for-television) versions. Post-production operations experience a plus.
• SAP & Salesforce preferred but not required
Preferred Education
• Undergraduate Degree: BA/BS Communication, Radio/TV/Film or other related fields and/or equivalent job-related experience preferred
