Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Music & Soundtracks team is a part of the Production division of The Walt Disney Studio. The team currently has an exciting opportunity for a student passionate about learning more about the intersection of films and music. The Music & Soundtracks Intern will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of music creative and production in the Studios Live action film division, from script development thru soundtrack release. The experience will allow the intern to learn from industry leaders a broad understanding of the creative and production decision making process that takes place for our feature films and soundtracks.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the offices of the President and Vice President of Creative, while also having the opportunity to work with the music production, licensing and marketing
• Assist department coordinator with administrative duties including desk/phone coverage
• Research projects (ie: public domain music, etc)
• Update contact and music databases
• Read scripts and perform music spotting
• May be able to attend some interactive scoring sessions, video shoots and creative meetings where appropriate
• May interact with various record and publishing companies including partnering with the Disney music group
Basic Qualifications
• Passion for music and film
• Experience with Filemaker pro or similar database management system
• Proficient in MS Office and comfortable working on both Macs and PCs
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and a dynamic personality
• Strong research skills, eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions
• Ability to provide own housing and transportation in Burbank, CA (Los Angeles, CA area.)
• Ability to work approximately 40 hours / week during regular business hours for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2018
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong interest and/or past experience in the music or entertainment industry
• Basic knowledge of Pro Tools
• Familiarity with Music terminology and key players (execs and talent) in the industry
• Ability to do liner notes a plus
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate in a professional and friendly manner with all levels within the organization including executives
• Detail oriented, highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner
• Passionate about Disney properties and franchises
Required Education
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Music, Film or related degree.
• Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college/university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program, or recently graduated within six months at time of application.

Additional Information
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) to participate in the internship program OR recently graduated within the last 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
