Job Summary:
This role will support various clients for Disney Corporate and will have responsibilities in both Employee Relations and the HR Business Partner area. The Senior Manager will be a key player in the handling of all employee relations matters for Disney Corporate employees on the East Coast. In addition, the Senior Manager contributes to the development and leads execution of human resources strategies and tactics to support the needs of Corporate clients, serves as an expert consultant to business leaders on talent matters, including organizational effectiveness, leader effectiveness, performance management, employee experience, and culture.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
• Independently conduct ER related assessments and investigations, and provide HR and business leaders findings and recommended next steps that are aligned to Company culture and practices.
• Oversee the Associate of Employee Relations role that manages the Performance Management (''PM'') process for Corporate employees. Corporate ER has recently taken on responsibility and oversight for the PM process. This Associate role will also assist with ER investigations, and provide support to the Director of Insider Threats.
• Develop relevant business solutions, tools and resources to support and positively shape the employee experience.
• Promote knowledge and understanding of company policy and of relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations and training.
• Analyze ER data/metrics for themes, trends and root causes. Share findings with key partners in order to develop and deliver an integrated plan that links to organization and people strategies, and helps advance the deliverables and priorities of the Company.
• Assist with Corporate and Enterprise project work as needed.
• Respond on behalf of the Company to employment complaints filed with State and Federal administrative agencies.
• Build relationships with key ER partners, including Legal, Human Resources, Security, Labor Relations, Management Audit, and Advisory & Assurance.
HRBP
• Establishes and maintains a solid understanding of the client organizations and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, at all levels and locations within organization.
• Works closely with the FL based HR team to proactively assesses business and organizational performance to recommend and drive action through a consultative, ''influence without authority'' approach.
• Advise and coach business leaders on HR policies and processes, including leadership effectiveness, performance management, organizational effectiveness, talent planning and learning and development to promote engagement and high performing teams.
• Assesses organizational performance systemically, defining effectiveness gaps and proposing HR solutions that support client business objectives.
• Plans and facilitates work sessions to develop business strategies (i.e. vision, mission, value, objectives) that help support organizational focus, effectiveness, efficiency, agility, and business results.
• Develops thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion.
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of relevant ER and HR experience in a dynamic environment, with specific experience in investigations, strategy development, talent management and change management.
• Advanced ER or Employment law experience.
• Excellent decision making, problem solving, and root cause/analysis skills.
• Advanced understanding of employment and HR related laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts and practices, including Title VII, ADA, ADAA, and FMLA.
• High emotional intelligence and ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with compassion and equity.
• Experience working with senior executives in an ''influence-without-authority'' role.
• Ability to position self as credible, proactive and a trusted thought-partner.
• Independent work style, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to balance business partnering skills with employee advocacy.
• Possesses both critical thinking capability and hands-on HR business plan implementation experience.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education
• Broad range of fields of studies is acceptable
• MBA, J.D., or relevant graduate degree preferred
