Job Summary:
We are seeking a Supervisor, Media Planning to join the Walt Disney Company on a permanent basis.
• Oversee and develop on-air promotion and media planning against TWDC objectives and programming initiatives in conjunction with Manager Media Planning and Presentation for DC UK, DJR Regional and XD Regional feeds
• Responsible for day-to-day plotting and maintenance of makelist workflow, promo planners and project briefs.
• Considered as ''face'' of presentation team – expected to attend all programming meetings pertaining to long term scheduling of the channel's and maintaining direct communication with programming planning, presentation and creative services teams to implement all planning strategies including stunts, events and franchise support across each channel.
• Responsible for ensuring presentation teams hit all daily deadlines for delivery of accurate channel schedules.
• Responsible for day-to-day management of the Media Planning Interns
Responsibilities:
• To lead the day-to-day oversight and planning of media plans
• Responsible for developing day-to-day implementation of on-air media plans for the pan-regional feeds in conjunction with Media Planning & Presentation Manager.
• Attend all meetings pertaining to programming planning. Identify and communicate promo, presentation and interstitial needs, and manage planning, plotting and execution of all media campaigns and series launches in liaison with planning, and creative services teams.
• Responsible for laying out weekly/monthly media plans and managing campaign planners.
• Work collaboratively with Media Planning & Presentation Manager and Creative Services teams to ensure final on-air campaigns meet expectations and initial vision of programme planning teams.
• Work with scheduling team to manage and track on-air inventory lists, and identify efficiencies in on-air production (repacks, archive campaigns) where appropriate.
• Manage on-air inventory and identify new opportunities to effectively reach audience with our promotional messages in parent schedule and within opt-out.
• Responsible for implementing synergy and synchronised programming and marketing campaigns as agreed by local markets. Assist Manager in drafting and reporting of Owned/franchise campaign effectiveness on regular basis for review by Snr Management and regional teams.
• Develop campaign strategies to launch, grow and sustain new programming initiatives, series launches and franchise development.
• Evaluate ratings and channel demos to ensure reach and effective placement of promotional campaigns. Track success through PCAs where appropriate.
• Implement the day-to-day makelist flow process – Establish project list from agreed monthly highlights, and update planning briefs to include media campaign plans and creative services production needs. Communicate plans with rest of business.
• Oversee, with presentation team, delivery of all campaign element effectively schedule on air promotional inventory.
• Ensure planned media campaigns, makelist and associated production meet needs of scheduling work within airtime opportunities, ensuring efficiency in creative services production, and identify efficiencies in production with potential repacks and refreshing of historic campaign materials where appropriate.
• Track EMEA and US campaign briefs and DCWMAX/MICK-E databases to identify campaign/synergy elements to aid campaign planning and communicate to programming planning, marketing and creative teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• Substantial, proven experience within Media Planning AND Presentation, preferably for a Disney channel within EMEA.
• Experience in scheduling in multi-channel environment essential, with a market leading passion and knowledge of kids TV brands positioning, programming and viewing behaviour preferred
• Highly innovative, with proven demonstrable experience in proactively generating high level competitive creative campaign strategies to deliver successful performance growth
• Proven strength in simultaneously managing multiple projects while maintaining the highest quality of work
Preferred Qualifications:
• Detail and accuracy-orientated, highly organised with a 'can do' attitude and excellent communication skills
• Proactive attitude to managing and solving challenges, and identifying improvements and opportunities
• An in depth knowledge of media interests and usage by Disney Junior's target audience and caregivers
• Multi-tasking of multiple projects and priorities essential
• Must work well under pressure and to tight timelines and be capable of understanding needs of diverse stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of Broadcast Systems e.g. Vision, IBMS and channel reporting systems essential
• Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and oral skills essential.
• Excellence in managing, tracking and reporting forward planning documents
• Ability to motivate and mentor junior team, creating an environment that supports creative thinking and problem solving
