We are looking for a Head of Post who will lead, manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of Post-Visualization by applying their creative direction and technical knowledge. They will work closely with other departments to ensure The Third Floor has the right tools, workflows and best people to deliver the work required.
The successful candidate will also be able to draw upon their extensive Visual Effects facility experience to make recommendations and lead innovation towards ensuring successful handover of TTF's work to VFX facilities.
Responsibilities:
Oversee TTF's Postvis teams and projects
Oversee and work with other TTF Supervisors to ensure efficient and successful delivery of postvis projects
Supervise and ensure best-practices for TTF to VFX handover on all shows
Lead a team of compositors to produce 2D slap comps
Meet with VFX Supervisor's and VFX Facilities to ensure successful relationship
Work with TTF's global team to streamline and enhance postvis workflow, tools & pipeline
Work with Production & Talent Management to support postvis team & hiring needs
Collaborate with Supervisors, Virtual Production & R&D teams to provide expertise on VFX needs at all stages of production
Work with R&D teams on building real time engine workflow for post
Improve the quality and efficiency of postvis output across the company
Supervise trackers, compositors and postvis artists to maximize efficiency and quality of output
Work with production management to manage client expectations of work & schedules
Act as a point of contact, leader and support for any postvis or VFX issues or challenges the company faces
Create and support training initiatives to grow the TTF postvis team & experience level
Work closely with other departments to ensure inter-departmental cooperation
Set the direction and maintain standards for the department
Assist with bidding/schedules alongside Business Development and Production team.
Work with HR to create training initiatives/rollout to increase company postvis and VFX proficiency
Actively keep up to date on production techniques and R&D
Essential Skills:
Experience working as a VFX Supervisor and/or Senior Compositing Supervisor
Solid knowledge of the Visual Effects pipeline - including tracking, CG & compositing
Excellent experience with After Effects, Nuke, Maya, PFTrack & 3D Equalizer
Awareness of other supporting tracking, 3D & compositing software & plugins
Experience with Real-time Engines - ideally Unreal
Experience on multiple projects as Lead Artist or Supervisor
Possesses a keen eye for aesthetics in compositing, lighting, color, and design, and effectively use the best methods to bring about results quickly and efficiently
Understanding of Virtual Production technologies (virtual camera etc)
A strong portfolio of work demonstrating creative skills and breadth of work
Personal attributes:
Strong & proven leadership, communication and problem-solving skills and confident with clients and managing their expectations
Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work within a team towards a common goal
Proven ability to resolve conflicting tasks
An interest in photography and film making
Positive 'can do' attitude
