Part Time Paid Internship
The Refinery is an award-winning entertainment advertising agency located in Sherman Oaks. We work with all of the major studios producing creative digital, A/V and print campaigns for theatrical properties and television/streaming content.

A Motion Graphics Intern for a 3-month full time paid internship opportunity. In this role, you will be paired with a mentor to learn the tricks of the trade while expanding your AfterEffects and Cinema 4D knowledge. A background in filmmaking and/or print design is a definite advantage – we want you to bring your own ideas to life. The ideal candidate will be able to dedicate full time hours to this role, with the goal of joining the team full time at the end of the internship.
Responsibilities:
• Execute assignments while working with mentor to develop and learn Motion Graphic tools, techniques, and industry best practices
• Animate text, images, and video, following the direction of the client and team
• Revise and render complex After Effects projects
• Crop and resize short videos in Premiere
• Prepare assets for animation by converting to efficient formats
• Create simple VFX and motion graphics
• Maintain open communication with assigned mentor on a daily basis
• Follow team standards for project specs, asset building, format conversion, deliverables, etc
• Save and organize files using established naming conventions and file structure
• Check renders for errors prior to delivery (especially spelling, centering, and glitches)
• Build knowledge and experience in motion projects, formats, deadlines, and workflows
• Learn from other departments within the company (e.g., Art Directors, Editorial)
• Work with mentors to expand skills in After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and more

Skills:
• Intermediate level of proficiency with AfterEffects and Photoshop
