Programming Associate, The Picture House
Job Description: The Programming Associate works closely with and under the supervision of the Producer of Film Programs to market, and execute a variety of film programs, including series, festivals, and special events. He or she is responsible for doing targeted outreach for other Picture House programs (Education) and special events (e.g. Annual Fall Fundraiser, Smaller events throughout the year) and being a point person for press. The Picture House is a small (5-person) team. Few if any efforts do not involve the entire staff. Therefore, candidates must be able to thrive and perform at a high level in a highly collaborative environment where team members have multiple – and interdependent – priorities. The Picture House is located in Pelham, NY, 30 minutes from Grand Central station via the Metro North New Haven Line. Our office is a short walk from the train station.
Ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of post-college experience working in the film industry and/or the nonprofit sector.
Responsibilities
• Marketing – assist with design and production of all collateral (flyers, postcards), invitations, advertisements, targeted for specific programs and general for brand building
• PR – Press writer and liaison for all press releases (film program related and other)
• Messaging – assist with website, eblast, other virtual communications
• Help raise profile of the organization across a range of social media/networking channels
• Film and Education program marketing – research, outreach
• Coordinate film prints/shipping with Picture House theater staff
• Point of contact with Picture House theater staff regarding all programs – timing, staffing, prep, set-up, logistics
• Work closely with Development Team on invitations for film and non-film events and programs

Desirable skills
• Some familiarity with contemporary independent film landscape and/or film industry experience (e.g. film marketing and distribution)
• Some experience with marketing and PR in any industry
• Knowledge of Westchester towns/press outlets
• Familiarity with web design and/or graphics programs such as InDesign and Photoshop
