PR/ Marketing Internship -Lifestyle/Fashion/ Entertainment
We are looking for ambitious hardworking individuals to join our Public Relations/Marketing team at The Narrative Group; where we specialize in the fashion, beauty, entertainment, lifestyle and hospitality industries. We are looking for three fall interns who can commit to 2-3 days a week starting in February. Ideal start date would be February 5th and ending the program in June. However, we are somewhat flexible on the time period/ hours, and can discuss on a case-by-case basis if needed to start later or end earlier.
We are an office dedicated to giving a hands-on experience in the business of Public Relations, Marketing and Special Events and are firm believers in teaching the workings of the industry. Some of our clients include Barry's Bootcamp, Bai Brands, LinkedIn, McDonald's, Lorna Jane, Michelle Bridges, Pound and The IV Doctor. This is an unpaid internship but students can receive school credit. Candidates will learn real skills and knowledge of the Public Relations and Marketing firms such as (but are not limited too): how to create a pitch for a client, interact with clients, editors and upper management at professional companies, as well as press release writing, internet research, attend meetings, monitor and track PR results and impressions. Students will also help develop and execute various client events, as well as receive the opportunity to learn and utilize various database tools used everyday by PR/Marketing professionals such as CisionPoint, PR Newswire etc.
Students will have a supervisor that will lead and mentor them throughout the internship program. Upon starting the internship, students will need to fill out a form indicating their specific goals they hope to learn during the duration of the program. This will help to place the student with the best supervisor. In addition, there will be bi-monthly reviews to go over students project work, learned skills and success of the student as well as questions the student may have.
Requirements:
-have a passion for and knowledge of the fashion, entertainment, beauty and lifestyle industries
-have strong writing and communication skills (there will be components of creative writing, so any majors or students with a passion for creative writing will be useful but not required)
-present oneself in a professional and respectful manner at all times
-have a positive attitude
-be able to multitask and work well with others in a team environment
-be extremely organized and detail oriented
